I think the new name for AI is not quite right yet. It should really be Super *Human* Intelligence *Techbro-ology* (SHIT). Grab the Wellies, time to wade through some chat... Grab a new diaper, some more *agents* have leaked out... It is time for Claudia do my homework again...

They are clearly getting "market growth" confused with "marketing department growth". Maybe, with some parsimony analysis, they can reduce the FPP (false proteomics people) to manageable levels.

There must be some sociological reason that large proteomics data sets meant to be "standards" for reuse are often so badly performed from a technical perspective that they are of little use for their stated purpose.

#proteomics Detecting PTMs is one of the great strengths of mass spectrometry based proteomics, right? This guide to detecting deamidation of N or Q residues might suggest otherwise. PTM work is really hard and deamidation is particularly challenging. codeberg.org/pwilmart/Det...

Norway? No way! What a stage in today's Tour de France. The women riders get less than 1/10th what the men get and provide twice the entertainment.

In #proteomics, better instrumentation usually lets you "discover" that the instrument was not the limitation. That's what discovery proteomics used to be. What masquerades as proteomics these days is dramatically increased cost and complexity resulting in loss of transparency and reproducibility.

So, @edzitron.com ate his Wheatties this morning
LLMs impress the writers who do not want to write, the coders who don't want to code, the researchers who don't want to research, and the lawyers that don't want to actually understand case law. Those that desperately tell you how powerful Al is and that you simply must use it are looking for you to validate their own laziness or distaste for effort, and those who are impressed with LLMs' outputs tend to be people with low standards.

If you have missing values in DIA, something is below the quant level. End of story. If your answer to shit is to add more shit, you have a real shit problem. Can we get back to doing #proteomics and learning how to do actual analytical work? It is about physical concepts not computational magic.
