So, this week I got this in. Months ahead of the proposed delivery period. Very happy that I managed to fund it on Gamefound, and love the quality. It's a great game and I love playing it. Deckbuilders are definitely my thing. And yes, I signed up for the Ascensions Lord of the Rings already.

This week's two notable album releases are both sophomores, not counting potential remix albums. Two young bands who both had their debuts in 2023 and very different from each other. First up the is dark and heavy stop/go by OK Goodnight, and the second is the mostly upbeat Bingo! by La Sécurité.
Cover of the album stop/go by the band Ok Goodnight. It features a a horizon consisting of a yellow sky and a red plane upon which four black silhouettes seemingly walk in the lower left corner, with the top figure being smaller as if they're farther away.

The entire covers looks scratched up and torn to give it a weathered look.Cover of the album Bingo! by La Sécurité. It features the silhouette of a plush dog with a paper body made out of bingo cards. It's face is white with long black ears and a black nose. The eyes are covered by a black plastic label plastered on the top featuring the name of the album. Four white music notes are drawn next to the doggo, offset by the black surface upon which the dog is standing.

The horizon has a blue-sky to the top left which is overruled by a pink/reddish color at a certain point. To the top right the name of the band, in green with a yellow outline and slightly jumbled up but still legible, is overlaying the rest of the cover crossing the white border of the main image. The outside of the album features what look like scratches or broken glass or ice in black and white.

New album releases this week with two of them standing out as my favourites. Modest Mouse - An Eraser And A Maze (with Song About Nothing as my fav) Lakecia Benjamin - We Dream (love me some nice jazz)
Album cover of Modest Mouse's An Eraser And A Maze. A black and white drawing of a snake with black spots going into, or coming out of, a scaled panel with a sun underneath that panel shining above a sea. The side that the snake is on has a starlit night and a moon at the topleft. It is encircled by a frame that has eyes at regular intervals.

Above the frame are the band's name and the title of the album.Lakecia James' album We Dream has her sitting on top of a green floating jelly-like substance that acts as a bean bag with her left hand touching the ground/water that is disturbed by the tips of her fingers. In her right hand she has a saxophone as she looks at the camera with her right leg outstretched to the left. Her left leg tucked in as the sole and heel of her knee-high boot completely touch the ground.

The background is a pink/salmon color mix with some shiny effects.

In the top right her name and album title.

Dear @twopointstudios.bsky.social. I may be a fan of your games. 😜 Loving the mechanics introduced with each new expansion. The art-creation especially. I still have to get some achievements, for some of the other expansions, but I shall take my time.
Screenshot of five achievements gained in the Two Point Museum Arty-Facts expansion.

The achievements are, from top to bottom:
- Glass Case Of Emotion: Employ an Art Expert with an understanding of all 7 emotions
- Please Don't Touch: Display every Famous Art exhibit in a single museum
- Art Museum: Complete Chapter 5 of Undee Docks
- Model Employee: Have a single Assistant pose for 5 portraits and/or statues
- Frame It 'Till You Make It: Display a pristine piece of original Art

Underneath the final one it says: 0.3% of players have this achievement.

This is going to be a VERY serious movie, I can tell. 😆

Very serious movie, this.

It me.
A screenshot of the incredible and absurdist game Titanium Court. The visuals make you think you're playing an old-school game on a system like the Apple II, thanks to its colors that are mostly beige-ish, a red-pink hue and aquamarine.

Images of brass players with a trombone and a trumpet are repeated and pasted over each other, with another person throwing their hands in the air in celebration. In the game the latter image moves across the screen, making it look like it jumps over and behind the brass players.

Below, the text "After incredible effort, you manage to get out of bed." is written.

Played a couple of #Steam demo's today and I liked all three that I played. But, for this post I want to focus on @rebelpixel.fr who are working on #Stardream. It has an incredible style, but they've also made it look like 2D concept art during 3D gameplay. It is gorgeous because of it!

So demo's for both Star Trek: Voyager - Across the Unknown and Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes are out now and both are roguelite experiences that are pretty small in scope. However, they each fit their respective series really well in terms of gameplay. They also hit just right for me.

It's a shame to see @eurogamer.bsky.social has fallen to the absurd, consumer-unfriendly and greedy practice of denying EU citizens access to their site if they don't pay for a sub or have ad tracking on. I am fine with having non-personal ads. Don't need my data for that. So they lost a reader.

We need a better, more suitable word, for certain investors who buy shares in a company with the only goal to maximize short-term profits by changing their production pipeline and internal structures. Activist investor doesn't cut it. How about Vulture Investors? Because that's what they are.

Heh, just watched @commandersterling.bsky.social 's newest Jimquisition and it was a delight seeing the love for Sengoku Basara. I never picked up Devil Kings after having rented it once, because it was really bad. But SB: Samurai Heroes is a favorite of mine since launch. Capcom, we need more!

Went out for new shoes, picked up a stray. Thanks @scalzi.com. 😄
Paperback release of John Scalzi's book Starter Villain. Featuring a man in a white outline and black suit sitting on an opulent and sci-fi chair. The chair is also outlined in white and has a curvature in the back seat, which clearly lacks any head support because of it, ending in two points on Both sides. It clearly denotes it's a chair for an evil villain this way.

Behind the chair is a mountain, and it is also surrounded by what looks like a whirlpool of red and blue lines, indicating a portal of sorts.

The man is also holding a cat, by the way. Like that one James Bond villain.

The book has blurbs on the front: 'Satire Aplenty' - Financial Times, and 'Laugh-out-loud funny' - SFX, five star review.

In white, underneath the depiction of the man in the sci-fi chair, is the title in white. Starter Villain, followed by 'Anti-hero in training. Underneath that is John Scalzi's name in red.

Blofeld, that was the Bond villain’s name. Just remembered.

I can't get over how excited I am for a brand new #Okami sequel from one of the my most favorite gamedesigners/directors. The wonderful (101, sorry, had to 😜) Hideki Kamiya! He always wanted to do a sequel, and he finally got his chance! This letter, shared by Capcom, made me even more hyped!
A letter from Hideki Kamiya, translated from Japanese, about his return to the world of Okami. It was shared by Capom on the hellsite.

To all of you,

"Until next time..."

How long has it been since the story was concluded with that? I didn't think the day would really come, where I'd return to Okami and continue the story with my own hands. Even at this very moment, my body is filled with both a cautious surprise that this is not a dream, and a joy that cannot be described in words.

Everyone who has worked so hard to make this project a reality, the friends who believed in me and gathered at CLOVERS Inc., and most importantly, the voices of so many of you who have continued to support Okami even after such a long time: all of this has come together to create this miracle for which I am deeply grateful.

Like a strong rising sun, this project is finally in motion. But it's still a small bud that is blossoming. We are ready to fill this new Okami with many colorful flowers, and to do our best to fulfil the promise of "next time" in the best way.

Everyone please wait with anticipation.

Hideki Kamiya.

Today I died because I made some bad placements, and I wasn't fast enough in placing a piton. The first drop wasn't that high (see the red skull in the middle), but the main character rolled for a bit and ultimately dropped in a small crevasse-like area on the side of mountain. Much higher drop! 💀
A grey-scaled view of a mountain range, with a heatmap overlayed on top of it. It shows signs of strain during a climb, with green being the least and bright red depicting moments of heavy strain on the main character as she climbs up a mountain.

A red downward arrow depicts a moment where she fell, and two red skulls depicts the two times she fell to her death.

At the bottom left is a drawn image of the main character looking up, with three stars and two straight lines connecting them, giving the idea of an unfinished mountain. The words "The ascent is over" are also shown, together with the options Load Save Point and Return To Main Menu.

Because of the horrible things coming in 2025 in the US, and I worry for friends there, I would suggest to everyone to make this their go-to album for letting loose. Joy As An Act of Resistance by Idles is one of the best modern punk albums out there, imo. It... GOES AND IT GOES AND IT GOES!
The vinyl record Joy As An Act Of Resistance by Idles, released in 2018.

The album cover looks like a golden sparkly picture frame featuring the picture of two oars holding up a container of sorts against a white brick wall. The container holds sand and a rock with the small ends of the oars poking through.

At the bottom, on a white background, are the words Joy As An Act Of Resistance. On the right a partial vinyl record can be seen so you know it's an actual vinyl record album. Sorry, had to be a bit cheeky there.

A meme showing the word bread on the top left, with a loaf of bread on the right for 10 US Dollars.

The lower left shows the same word, with the letters E and A stylized in the logo for game publisher EA (Electronic Arts). On the bottom right it shows the same loaf of bread cut in pieces, with one small depicting a 30 Dollars Base Game, another piece depicting a 20 Dollar DLC expansion, and the third piece cut in even smaller pieces with the word loot box underneath it.

There it is. Over 15 Million users on BlueSky. And counting! Be sure to check out the necessary mute/block lists to keep assholes and chuds away from your timeline. The block function is really good here. And if you're new, be on the lookout for all of the starter packs available!
Screenshot of Jaz' user count for BlueSky, it says 15.000.580

This is fucked up. I really hope #Dropout will get a presence here and leave the hellsite run by that loser fascist. I feel and worry for the people who work at Dropout who want nothing more but to bring joy, which is now more important than ever.
