This is quite a thread, and an awfully bad look for DraftKings. I'm sure the other online gambling sites are much more ethical, though!

In college, to a girl I didn't know very well but with whom I needed to discuss some classroom matter, I sent the following instant message: "Are you busty?" Followed immediately, of course, by "BUSY! Are you BUSY!!"

Well, this is random: My wife and I have made several word search books for Puzzlewright Press, and one of them, "Word Searches for Leisure," has been selected by the Almighty Amazon Algorithm to be part of a Prime Days promotion.

I picked up a copy of the collected letters of JRR Tolkien for reasons, and this is the most bullshit table of contents I've ever seen. I'm actively angry that it exists
Contents

Introduction - vii

Foreword to the Revised and Expanded Edition - xi

Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien - 1

Notes - 607

This might be the worst book pitch ever.
MrBeast plugs his new book, co-written with James Patterson (and, surely, some number of ghost writers). In the pitch, MrBeast says he didn't like to read growing up and that influenced his decision to write this book. "For many people this might be the first book they actually read (and hopefully enjoy haha)."

If I had posted this picture, "here we go again" would mean "I am making another word search." No idea what it means in this guy's case.

Now comes the part where people who voted for Trump shake their heads and say "tsk tsk" that someone as awful as Platner garnered so much support. The Dem political/punditry machine took too damn long to correct itself, but at least it finally did. Can't exactly say the same thing for Republicans.

Today's @merriam-webster.com Word of the Day is UMAMI. I can find only one other common five-letter word where the 2nd and 4th letters are the same consonant, and the remaining letters are vowels. Can you think of it?

Yesterday's @merriam-webster.com Word of the Day was WIFTY. I had an idea for a puzzle but didn't have the time to throw it together. But here we are at last! In each row, replace each word with a rhyme to make a three-word movie title.

Nuthatch. An older comic.
A four-panel comic. The first panel shows an arrow pointing down at a happy-looking nuthatch bird, and a caption: This is a nuthatch. The caption says "It's called a nuthatch because... wait no" and we see the nuthatch standing on a pile of nuts, tucking them under it. The caption says "That's not... wait" and the nuthatch is roosting comfortably on the pile of nuts. The caption says NO. And we see that one of the nuts has hatched and some walnut meat is flying happily into the air on little wings.
