I think of these two often. Who are they? Are they librarians? What are they discussing? Are they fun? Would they think that I am fun? Do they have an official fan club?
A cropped version of the image included when sharing a pubmed article. It shows two people in a library discussing something that has their intense interests.

NIH changed the peer-review discussions from 50% to 30-35%, created the competitive non-discussed designation, and changed the summary statement if a grant was discussed. It was supposed to be for 2 cycles, now it is 3 cycles. If this concerns you, NOT-OD-26-069 has an email address at the bottom.

I responded to the NIH policy change regarding the late deadline and continuous submission. While it may seem like a small change to the way we work, it will create additional barriers for some. I am sharing the email I sent. Take the time to send one if you are concerned. 1/4

Is that Middle Falls? That’s my hometown. In high school, our home cross country course went under South Falls and our invitational course was the Monster on the other side of the park.

Vaccines work! As measles cases have recently been reported in Alaska, Georgia, New York, Rhode Island and Texas, it's important to remember that prior to the introduction of the measles vaccine in 1963, measles killed 400-500 people and resulted in ~48,000 hospitalizations per year.
Graph showing that prior to 1963 when the measles vaccine was introduced, there were around 300,000-700,000 measles cases per year. Within a few years of the vaccine, the number of cases fell below 20,000/year. There were a blips where cases rose, but shortly after the second vaccine dose was recommended in 1989, annual cases have generally been well below 1,000 cases. In 2000, measles elimination was declared in the US. Now we have sporadic outbreaks that typically spread among unvaccinated people. Chart is from Center for American Progress and is based on CDC data on measles cases.
