This is actually funny because it's the exact opposite 😂 The name changed after we added Fediverse support. We didn't want it tied only to Bluesky anymore. In case it's not clear enough: no Reels, no AI. Just a classic photo app. Even if you don't like Stories you can disable it.

Just cause I feel like people are going to blame me for any problems, I rambled. It's all in alt text, I didn't want to flood you.

I am fully aware people are angry at me for this thread.

I didn't expect it to actually reach as many people as it did.

My only goal was to make sure people are informed about a game I genuinely wanted more from.

I have shared my feelings, I have shared what I have seen.

Me bringing this to you all was started with the intent to just let people know that hey, you are spending money on something using GenAI in it's process, and here is how it is being used.

That is important to many of us, many of those who follow me anyway.

That is why I have shared this.

I still have hope for the studio and it's employees, though I also think Chedd may need a vacation to step back and breath, cause not talking these replies over with the team may not have been the best call.

The game is wonderful, it really is, hell, if you don't care about Claude, play it now!

Like, it's in a free playtest, you aren't funding it by playing.

Bug test it, tell the devs what you enjoy, cheer them on and hope they make a statement that they will stop using genAI.

Multiple people have screamed at those of us complaining to leave the Discord. Some got removed for it.

Some deleted their own responses and sit there, angry.

Some of them have genAI avatars, do projects for people who promote genAI, and more. They are all really angry.

Every response from those not wanting genAI have been pretty level headed.

There is a community that cares and wants to see change.

I hope the kind reactions to every post Chedd made don't jade him into siding with those who are also adamantly in the "who cares" column. It's definitely the easier choice, but I think that would be the end of SpryFox.

I don't say that as a threat, but siding with pro GenAI doesn't make a good community.

It makes a toxic one. The exact opposite vibe of what we all wanted from the game.

I think a lot of us would be willing to forgive them if they just said they were going to stop using Claude in their work flow ASAP, apologized for not being more public about it, and explained most of what they said but... not how it was said...

I would also really like the minorities at the company to not feel like they are some sort of checkbox on why using GenAI was okay... and maybe explain how "most employees were against genAI" took weeks of coercion...

I don't know, there's a lot of things that didn't sit well, and I think Chedd should NOT have been handling this, especially alone.

Anyway, sorry, it's a long ramble and I know alt text images aren't great but I don't want that many posts at once going on.
