I recall Lacan's text on cybernetics being one the most interesting because it showed he was really a very very avid person when it came to knowledge, and showed a deep philosophical understanding of what computing is and also is surprisingly pertinent today.

I've been thinking of this for some time. Yes, a veo3 video might cause a lot of CO2 emissions, but how much would cost to travel to location and film a 1 minute scene, for example? According to the article, it seems there might be a huge overestimation of the environmental impact of AI, right?

Wilhelm Reich does something similar in "Die Massenpsychologie des Faschismus", where he tries to marry Freud to the materialist view of Marxism. IMO, that always ends up oversimplifying Freud. They are too incompatible to mix. Freud sees history as mythical repetition, not a dialectical progress.
