I have a favorite new show of the year and I'm here to yell about it!! #SterlingPoint is funny and emotional and dramatic and has such classic summer vibes and is deliciously gay and I *highly* recommend it. Escape to a small Canadian island with me! www.autostraddle.com/watching-ste...

Watching 'Sterling Point' Feels Like Going To a Super Gay Summer Camp

When she gets to the Canadian island she has inherited, Annie meets the local teens, who happen to be a fun and vibrant group of mostly queer people.

Do you ever feel like you've scrolled on TikTok so long the algorithm is really throwing spaghetti at the wall re: what content to serve you? Tonight I have somehow seen almost all of a Brazillian production of Mean Girls the Musical one number at a time. I'm not mad about it.

I love finding out I'm even more chaotic than I realized by having a friend say "I just did a very Valerie thing" and then describing something you thought was PERFECTLY NORMAL AND TOTALLY REASONABLE but apparently is...not.

I have a list of LGBTQ+ websites I check for news as I'm doing my weekly pop culture link roundup for Autostraddle and so many of them are owned by the same company now it's just a bunch of websites recycling the same exact articles. Bleak!

I wish LinkedIn had a feature that was the opposite of connections. An "I never want to work with this person again" feature. So a big red warning pops up if this person is ever attached to any projects I'm hired for. I'm fighting for my life in the comments of a SharePoint document and I'm TIRED.

I really wanted to like the new #LizzieBorden season of the #MonsterNetflix series. Alas. It was very obvious to me that this story about women was made mostly by men. I wrote a review breaking down the few things I liked and everything I didn't about the show. www.autostraddle.com/monster-the-...

I think if I'm copy editing/proofreading entire online courses (meaning I'm reading each lesson multiple times, and having to understand it so well that I'm correcting it) I should get whatever certificate or qualification it awards by the time the job is over.

My small but mighty team of #PunkyPlays pals: Things are a bit chaotic over here, so stream might start a little late tonight. Also, I don't think I have the bandwidth to start a new game, so we might play around in Fortnite and collect sprites. We'll start the spooky stuff soon though, promise!

I was a caffeine addict from age 14 to about three years ago. "Caffeinated" started to mean baseline alive and there was no way for me to get my energy levels above baseline. So I quit daily caffeine, got a new baseline, and now, when I DO need an energy boost, caffeine actually works. HOWEVER.

I do not consider myself to have a lot of Capricorn tendencies, but I sure do feel my mermaid goat horns rearing their head when everyone on a team I'm working with is being bad at communication and VERY inefficient and I just want to grab the reins and be like PLEASE JUST LET ME HANDLE THIS.

Nothing grinds my gears in a work environment than everyone doing everything in the least efficient way possible. I'm a contracted copywriter so I have to bite my tongue to keep from being like MAY I FIX ALL YOUR PROCESSES BECAUSE GOOD LORD YOU'RE ALL WASTING SO MUCH OF YOUR OWN TIME.

you can build a bunker for you and your retainers & you can hoard your power & fame, you can worship nothing but ambition or status and stand by while people you might be able to help--in big ways or small ways--go without. Or you can be Dolly. All these things are choices. She made good ones.

On one hand, it's disheartening to hear about some of the people signing on to this HP TV show. On the other, I'd rather they show their ass now than let me admire them longer than I should. RIP (my respect for) Kit Harrington.

On the way to the laundromat, I walked by a box of free tableware with bowls I wanted, but I didn't want to carry bowls to the laundromat so I decided to wait, thinking not many people would walk by on a weekday afternoon, but by the time I walked by again they were GONE. Now I am sad and bowlless.

I put my backback up on the counter to start putting groceries in and the cashier squinted at it and I was thinking "uh oh is it embarrassing I'm using a backpack instead of a tote" but then she goes "sorry I don't have my glasses on" and leans in and I realized she was inspecting my pins. I don't know how to explain to the people who pop up when creatives complain about "AI" to say there are legit uses for it just how much they sound like someone saying "Well actually fire is used to make bread" when people are talking about an organized arson ring burning down their fucking houses

The Spiderman meme but it's me convincing my mother (an eldest daughter) to make someone else take on a specific responsibility so she can go on a trip she wants to go on but then I, said eldest daughter's eldest daughter, end up being the one to take the responsibility on.

My mother just told me that when I was 5ish and my godmother's teen daughter got pregnant, I panicked and begged her to tell me, in detail, how to not get pregnant. Apparently I legit couldn't sleep and "If you don't want to get pregnant, you won't" wasn't enough and I wanted EXPLICIT instructions.
