𝕀'𝕄 ℕ𝕆𝕋 𝔾𝔸𝕐. Our friend Kyle dared us to do an episode on POPSTAR: NEVER STOP NEVER STOPPING (2016) for its 10th anniversary screening by Sound Unseen at @trylon.org. So we did. Obviously, we took it pretty seriously. (links in 🧵) #filmsky #movies #podcast

The latest Andrew Garfield movie, THE UPRISING, had a release date of September 11 and the tagline, "RISE OR DIE," so now every cab in New York has an ad on it that says "THE UPRISING. RISE OR DIE. SEPTEMBER 11TH."

Talking Heads are the best band of all time because they made amazing music that also sounds like the music that would play in school videos about how science is cool

I think three and a half is where I land with it too. The Chris Hansen movie is better than the Skyler Gisando movie or the Merritt Weaver movie imo, even tho the Skyler stuff had the most potential

Nothing better than when there's a character who has been frantically working on some magnum opus in a fearsome-looking journal, and then near the end of the character's arc the protagonist opens it for the first time and finds that it contains apparently illigible scribblings. That's the stuff

Ridiculously special videogame, imbued with a kind of all-encompassing melancholy I still think about constantly. I've played through it twice and consider a third playthrough more often than I ever thought I would, which is nuts considering how long it is

I'm gonna say it: Chantal Akerman is a brilliant filmmaker and her movies contain a lot of insight into what it's like to be a human being. I know this is a shocking take, but I must speak my truth
