DeepSeek, the Chinese generative AI chatbot launched in July 2023 by businessman Liang Wenfeng, gave the lowest estimate at 'around 80 to 85.' This sounds accurate. www.ibtimes.co.uk/donald-trump...

The solution isn’t to stop wanting change; it’s to make the hidden bargain conscious.

Before chasing the next object, name the transformation you expect it to deliver: What feeling am I outsourcing to this job, purchase, move, or relationship? Make the external change if it matters, but stop asking it to settle an internal question it cannot answer.

American culture excels at selling transformational objects: the next job, house, relationship, city, or purchase that will finally change how life feels. The object keeps changing because the underlying wish goes unexamined. We change the vehicle, never the destination.

In that sense, the tautology is less a formal logical error and more a way of closing off historical inquiry and by neglecting this, it leaves us SEVERELY vulnerable to manipulation, misinformation, disinformation and moving further from the actual consensual reality of the world.
110
Bryan Harnsberger @psychhype.bsky.social · 09/10/2026
There has to be a different from just accepting tautologies and how things came to be; that people treat familiar assumptions about the world as self-evident, as if “that’s just how it is” were an explanation and fail to ask how those assumptions arose or whose history they leave out.

Bryan Harnsberger @psychhype.bsky.social · 09/10/2026
I think there is a problem here where some people just operate from a perspective of ahistorical thinking as their permanent default, & it robs them from understanding what history actually is. If you mistake your own beginning for the beginning of the world, you’ll misunderstand your place in it.

People forget that it’s only been like 80 years since indoor heated showers became a thing. People ALSO forget that Ruby Bridges is still alive. (That was only 65 years ago) We have progressed so quickly and in such a short period of time EXCEPT where it really matters.

Universal child care is the best investment we can make for our families.
The impact of universal, affordable child care for all families would be seismic. It would mean a single mother could go back to school to become a nurse. It would mean a young family could actually save enough to buy a house. It would mean a couple could start that small business they’d been dreaming of.

The next phase is you experience revenue erosion, and that leads you to the final boss — Optum Ventures sends you an offer to buy your practice at a disrespectfully low rate, where they make their money back on their investment in the first year.
