kiyoshi kurosawa might be the most successful horror filmmaker of all time, just in terms of Actually frightening/haunting images. because i love horror but it doesnt need to be scary to be good, and most horror isn't scary. but kurosawa's work gets under my skin in a way nothing else does

when i was a kid my favorite character in anything would always be whoever was the weird little guy. my favorite LOTR character was gollum. my favorite star wars character was yoda. and i never watched the prequels so it wasnt even CGI Badass Yoda. just the little old man being cryptic in the woods

Anyone feel like playing Big Walk

A parody poster of the 1992 David Lynch film "Fire Walk With Me". Featuring half of a heart locket, dangling in the center of the image. never "got" the critique that The Descent shouldn't have introduced monsters past the first hour or bc like. the monsters are still not very relevant and arent intended to be. that film is just about relationships . miscommunication, misinterpretation, assumption and self-isolation.

ive always disliked that the cultural image of Carrie revolves almost entirely around the school bullying aspect and not the religious/child abuse, or frankly anything to do with family/the home even though i would say those aspects are far more prominent throughout and explored more thematically
