People are using LLMs summarize books. Do you really think you can compress a 300-page book into 2 pages without losing a *bunch* of information? There are people summarizing Dostoyevsky on Reddit, what's even the point 😭

Others have noted it but I will too: The big reason Bluesky is so hot right now is that the people who add value to social media - the frequent posters in specific fields - are here now, talking to each other and creating the "spectator value" that draws users and attention.

It took me twelve years (!) to build up my audience on Twitter. It took 5 days to surpass the 50% point of my Twitter following on Bluesky. I’m hopeful that the overall growth on this site will negate the need to go on Twitter altogether. Sad to see what it devolved into, but thrilled to see it die.

So cool to see adult gymnastics getting coverage in a major publication! Also: seriously jealous of the adult gymnastics scene in London. There are *several* gyms with classes & open gyms for adults www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle...

Is 61 too old to take up gymnastics? Not if you’re planning on living to 100
The older I get, the more I want to play rather than just work out. Have I left it too late to learn a backflip, cartwheel or forward tuck – especially with a dodgy knee?

In case you need some wholesome content, here you go: My wife hiked every single state park in Virginia and earned a master hiker certificate for it from the state. (I hiked a few, but there were definitely a few trails I had no chance with.) Today, Virginia State Parks honored her on Facebook.

Good news: Twitter is collapsing. And this chart doesn't even show the last two weeks—which have seen the largest exodus in site history. There are reports from Newsweek and others that Twitter may merge with Truth Social. If that happens, the last collapse of Twitter may happen almost overnight.

Plot of engagement versus time for the same post on Bluesky and Twitter shows significantly higher engagement on Bluesky.

Talked to a junior dev friend last week who built a prompt-to-image app using AI. Initial progress? Impressive. Final result? Abandoned. Lesson learned: AI-authored architecture = undebuggable mess + zero scalability esp. for new features Human devs still crucial for robust, future-proof solutions.
