Some recent improvements: - Followers are now updated in real-time using firehose data - Fixed some bugs causing incomplete data - Fixed some bugs in chart rendering - Switched default period from "all" to "last 3 months" - Added ability for me to manually add accounts w/o OAuth

it's just because the post US-election boom, all those new users. new follows are down way more than new likes and posts. we're just reaching a different phase where starterpacks are less of a growth source. (graph from bsky.jazco.dev/stats)

The atproto omniauth strategy is out ! And thanks to @marckohlbrugge.com and @mackuba.eu's didkit it can now resolve its endpoints dynamically (it's not a bluesky only strategy anymore)

I’m learning to accept “bugs” like these. Yes they are easy to fix, but if you’re not careful you find yourself pursuing 100 “easy to fix” things, instead of making real progress on the stuff that matters.

I’ve been rebuilding blueskycounter.com to support historical data. Finally got it working locally 😊 Had to switch from Ruby to Javascript, as there’s no proper Ruby libraries for AT Proto yet and man the protocol is complex 😂

Here's how far I got: github.com/marckohlbrug... It accepts a handle (e.g. marckohlbrugge.com), finds the right auth server to redirect to (looks at TXT records, etc). Redirects you there. Finally redirects you back to the app. That's where I hits an error

For any Ruby devs interested in Bluesky OAuth, here's my current work: gist.github.com/marckohlbrug... Logging in works, but refreshing tokens doesn't yet. And access tokens tend to expire in 30 minutes.

People list reasons for supporting their candidate, but this mostly reaffirms choices rather than changing minds. Comfortable, but not persuasive. Instead, I suggest to identify the strongest objections, address them at their best, and offer clear rebuttals.

When tapping an image in the Blue Sky app it shows a black loading indicator for a second while loading the full image. It’s a bit jarring. It should resize the tapped image to full size, show it as a preview, while loading the full res image.
