A poem by enslaved Black Creole, Pierre, included in "Louisiana Creole Dialect" by Prof. James Broussard. It's titled "Mo Las!" /I'm Tired!/ It was written in gallicized Kouri-Vini, and I translated it into our modern orthography.

Kouri-Vini started out as a pidgin. By the time the first and second generations of children belonging to the Enslaved were born, It became a bona fide language. Kouri-Vini and Louisiana French (often called Cajun French etc) are sister languages. Kouri-Vini is NOT broken French!
