Well I can say that we here at Syncing Not Swimming are deeply saddened by the passing of Mr. Lynch, auteur extraordinaire. The soundtrack to Eraserhead was a huge inspiration for at least one of us. He changed everything.

Svaneborg Kardyb and Over Tage (2022) Deluxe Edition. Excellent minimalist Danish duo with some lovely electronic jazz on the Gondwana label. New release 'Superkilen' coming in Sep which I am looking forward to rather a lot 😎

When BBC4 made those Punk/Prog Britannia documentaries. One was a charming hour of some old guys who'd wanted to make some challenging music and had a nice time doing it. One was a bitter three hour, self-indulgent whine of entitled people who'd wanted to make some challenging music and hated it.

(Tomorrow) 3/5/24 Rusty Sheriff is dropping a concept album about the narrative of the obelisk on that Bandcamp place. As you do. In the meantime you can have a listen, and watch the film here: youtu.be/Aav7Zp_GNts?...

This Friday we’re doing a tape and CD about obelisks. Naturally a sensible idea.

I ❤️ Eurorack samplers but the various file conventions bore me to tears. Here’s a list of a few that have proved useful, maybe they’d be useful to you?

Daughter tells me she heard today that if you wear a band T-shirt (especially as a young woman) and a man says to you “name five of their songs”, the correct response is “name five women who trust you”, so I pass this on in case any of you need it

All hail PAIA! Modular synth DIY from the late 70's. Its all been built into a DIY wooden case with a completely rebuilt regulated power supply. Its hilariously unstable, which isn't surprising given the cost of the modules in the late 70's, but its a hell of a lot of noisy radiophonic wobbly fun!
