Needs a proper lean in with headphones to appreciate fully the detail in what’s going on. Would love to see the ballet this was composed for. Floating Points, and the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra, ‘Mere Mortals’ (2026, CD)

Giving this an outing, Transatlantic ‘The Absolute Universe’ (2 CD, extended version, 2021). I like the Abridged Version too, but I’m a sucker for the fact this is the bigger immersive experience. Shame this project is no more, but they have left us with some superb albums. Great way to sign off

Watched last night, not the usual Friday night cheery fare. Incredibly vivid documentary about obsession really and where it leads … and not always to glory. Compelling and at times difficult watch.

Way home from work, one I haven’t played for decades, had this, and totally forgotten about it. Trip down memory lane … Edgar Froese and ‘Pinnacles’ (1983, Tidal).

After all the talk yesterday, influenced myself into playing ‘Le Parc’ (1985, Tidal) for the morning dog walk. Lovely Tangerine Dream release. Always loved this period. Takes me right back to that time so it does!

Need to get myself up and into the wealth of live material from around this time, so enjoyed this, KC 'Penn State University, 1974' (CD). Released earlier this year (I think), and (I think) part of the Road to Red box (I don't have that one), and good to have! Audio is pretty decent

#influenced @mobydick2010.bsky.social playing a bit of UFO this last week. Turning the clock back to 1981, and what.an.album this is. Tonka Chapman could certainly play, feels like the previous album was really just a warm up interlude to this beast. STILL sounds absolutely massive and amazing 🤩

More than just a streamer … hadn’t occurred to me to connect my SMSL CD player into this to use it’s DAC and more powerful headphone amp 🙄. So, one Toslink cable later, voila, some seriously good sound. Richer, deeper than the CD player alone. Once I get a modern TV, could even use the HDMI Arc …
