🗣️ From systematic reviews to expert interviews, follow @victoriagabb.bsky.social 's journey to define core outcomes in MCI research. Her latest blog post is a window into the intricate process. #DementiaResearch #ClinicalOutcomes buff.ly/4gjYpPI
This image is a promotional graphic for a guest blog titled "MCI Core Outcomes Study: Interviewing the Experts" by Victoria Gabb, a Senior Research Associate at the University of Bristol. It features a photo of an elderly woman laughing joyfully during a conversation with a researcher, who is visible from behind and partly out of focus. The text highlights the series' focus on tracking the progress of research in developing core outcomes for Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI). The Dementia Researcher logo is also displayed, signifying the platform hosting the series. This setup conveys a personal, engaging approach to discussing scientific research and its impact.

The current environment is making it near impossible to run clinical trials in the UK. One key issue discussed in @brain1878.bsky.social is the duplication - or worse - of regulatory oversight at NHS hospitals & universities. My views on how to change the system academic.oup.com/brain/articl...

Community Voices Matter: Breaking Barriers in Dementia Research | North Bristol NHS Trust
When it comes to dementia research, whose voice matters? The answer is simple: everyone’s. But in reality, not everyone is equally represented in dementia studies — and that needs to change.

We can always try to improve how we conduct trials and how we ensure that the most important people have a say in how they are designed and run. For the AD-SMART platform and #dementia research, Ben Underwood is doing just that with POPPED. Please take a look at www.popped.org.uk and do share!

Very similar situation for us - waiting times are now just over 6 months (down from a year) and we are trying to catch up. Terrible, but maybe improving if we can keep staff. Thanks for highlighting/sharing.
