Judge Raymond Kethledge is the new Chief Judge of the Sixth Circuit. Outgoing Chief Judge Jeff Sutton has assumed senior status, and will be replaced by the already confirmed Ben Flowers.

Northern District of Illinois Judge John Tharp has assumed senior status. He was appointed by President Obama in 2012.

I think it’s the risk of keeping vulnerable senators in Washington longer when they need to be on the campaign trail as much as possible. That’s gives Rs a better chance to keep senate control, which will yield more judges long term

Yeah there’s one hearing date left (Nov 18), and even then it’s tight. Choosing one of the DJs he appointed last year could speed things up. But he has until Oct 21 to get the paperwork to the Senate.
