Generally opposed to executions, public or not, but if the US experiences a French style revolution, I suspect there will be more than a few public executions.

Came to vote in the advanced polls for the municipal election. Usually it is in & out because there are only a few people, but I'm pleasantly surprised to be waiting in a long line. I'm hopeful this bodes well for turn-out because it is typically very low at this level. #bcpoli #yourvotematters

The candidate has been dropped, but those were relatively recent posts & it still calls into question the vetting, or lack thereof, for BC Conservative candidates. Thanks for the attention you've been giving to our provincial election. This is the 2nd post I've seen today. bsky.app/profile/jmce...

While I'm pissed with Eby for calling a needless election, I feel my best option is to vote NDP. I was leaning towards Greens, but with things like the proposed changes to ICBC from the BC Conservative party, I think voting NDP in my riding will prevent the BC Conservatives from forming government.

Today, the Vancouver Police Department issued a release saying "when it comes to the perception of public safety, the facts matter." In 2020, when the crime rate in the city was down, Vancouver Police Department Chief Adam Palmer argued that feelings mattered as much as facts.

In theory, I think this is a good idea, but in practice I think we will see tax avoidance measures from the individuals that would be impacted by it.

In theory, yes, but in practice? How will they measure the wealth? Is it only assets held in BC? In Canada? Globally? Will assets be moved out of Canada to avoid this tax? Will we see it split amongst family members to bring individual wealth below thresholds? Other tax avoidance measures?

Jeff Rath obviously has no scruples, but I have questions about litigation funding. How is this allowed? Is 25 to 35% compounded annual returns typical? Plus 5% of settlement? What happens if the litigation is unsuccessful? Does the lawyer still owe the investors? This needs to be regulated.
