ads failing due to imgur pulling out of the UK was not what I expected... lol
a big prompt saying your download has started then off to the right is an image saying content is not viewable in your region on a purple background with an imgur logo in the corner, then tiny text on top saying advertisment

seeing friends need support and going "oh I could help out" then realising last month I needed help towards the end of the pay period. I'm glad I'm getting better at this but I miss being able to be carelessly selfless when I had a well paying job

Repost with Alt Text. ...bc yeah, THIS.
Tumblr post by user kalira , dated Oct 20, 2024:
I say this very gently and with much love, and I say it not only as a writer myself but as someone who has been privy to many 'but how can they not know that work is amazing! 1 love it! I gushed about it to every friend I have and recced in x, y, z servers and [...]'

The writer or artist doesn't know this.

They have no way of knowing that you found their work beautiful and lifechanging or even just a bright spot on a bad day or that you think about it every day or that you told all your friends about it, and those things are great but we have no way of knowing them! You may not be doing it intentionally, but you're excluding the writer or artist from the community feeling of fandom that you are carrying on (that is so great! fandom is a community! continue to talk and play!) even with their work.
Please, please just drop a line even that is "oh gosh I absolutely love this work, I screamed to every one of my
friends about it when I first read/saw it!" even if you don't
have the spoons to share more of the specifics that made you flail at your friends or what you said in private. (Though if you do, we will love you forever for it.)

Got a new camera and lens for my imaging machine only to realize I now have to redesign the camera mount for the 5th time. This time I'm planning on using QR plates since I'm using a heavier lens and want to reduce the need for future redesigns.

Two panel comic. Panel 1: Omni Man and Invincible are floating in the sky. Two fighter jets are flying nearby. One is labeled "double" and the other is labeled "float". Omni Man is labeled "Mathematicians". Panel 2: Omni Man / Mathematicians turn to Invincible and say "Look what they need to mimic a fraction"

use firefox or a firefox based browser and have too many tabs? right click a tab, select all tabs, right click again, bookmark tabs. that, or use firefox profiles. I forgot I used profiles years ago to keep session history so i could always restore tabs.

What? You saying you *don't* like it when your burgers are so thick you have to unhinge your jaw just to fit it in your mouth?

Ohhh true, I didn't think of that.

I think you're onto something there, although I feel like it might interfere with the paw fluff that help keeps the paws warm in the cold.

I know there's driving gloves that can be used with your phone too. However, I've never had much luck with their durability in that aspect as they wear out fast. So I'd imagine it's just be shaped to fit their paw with the appropriate screen compatible pads on the beans.

I think sandals have this figured out where they have a velcro strap on the back that's super quick to adjust. Not sure how this could be adapted nicely to closed back shoes though.

Procerand @procerand.bsky.social · 17/07/2026
I have a similar issue where generally the harder part inside the back of the shoe wears through the fabric and starts stabbing the back of my heel. Problem is, slipping the shoes on is just so convenient compared to lacing them every time.

It'll be 2D as that's what I'm most familiar with. At the start I think I'll set a goal of making it more similar to Mindustry (without the enemies), then depending on how scope creep goes I'll add enemies as I think tower defense is a sorely underutilized mechanic in factory games.

Thinking about making a factory themed game in Java to touch up on my skills. Looking online for asset packs it looks like I'll have to go and make my own assets for it though. Shouldn't be too difficult. #gamedev

tab volume control would be amazing

Procerand @procerand.bsky.social · 09/07/2026
You'd think web browsers would have an easier way to find which tab has audio by now especially when using tab groups.

tbf, the automatic calculations in the search bar is actually quite handy. You can even do temperature conversions.

I'm sure absolutely nothing will go wrong with adding features to my project roadmap late at night. I'm sure most of them are unnecessary and can't be tested too well, but I'm pretty sure some of these are also ideas I've had for a while, but never bothered writing down. #softwaredevelopment

making tools is great. you make a game and it's like ten hours to make one thing move correctly once. you make a tool and it's like you spend five minutes adding in honking sounds. this suddenly opens up an entire lifetime's worth of combinatorial honk-based self-expression. magic.

Neutrino Project xkcd.com/3249/
Comic. [Huge pool, with two people walking on the edge together, one jumping off a diving board, and others playing with a beach ball inside the pool as two people in the center of the pool talk.] PERSON 1 with ponytail: How much trouble do you think we’ll be in when they find out we used the Neutrino Project grant money to throw a huge pool party instead? PERSON 2: We could argue that we *did* build a neutrino detector. There’s a lot of water here. A solar neutrino will probably interact with it at *some* point. Person 1: ...Wait. Actually, if we got some photomultiplier tubes... [caption] How The Neutrino Detector Was Invented

Valve bankrolled Proton development. Discord probably fixed their terrible Linux client for the Steamdeck/Steam Machine. AMD probably got off their ass, to some degree, about proper legacy FSR4 support for the Steamdeck/Steam Machine thanks for saving PC gaming again, Valve

I'm having way too much fun focus stacking. Probably helps that I have an easy way to take the photos now with FieldWeave. I do have some ideas on how to improve the focus stacking algorithm now, but that'll have to wait until later. #photography #macrophotography #FieldWeave #focusstacking

A close up image of the head of an anodized hex head screw on a dark background. The image was focus stacked so the entire screw head is in focus.A close up of some resistors and a crystal oscillator on a circuit board. I took it out of the worst keyboard I have ever used. The image was created via focus stacking.
