I work in an acute care hospital. Drivers of vehicles are *orders of magnitude* more responsible for closed head injuries, permanent brain damage, and spinal cord injuries etc of all road users. And when the rider of an ebike has these injuries, the responsible party is mostly drivers of a vehicle.

I recently had lots of tests in prep for surgery & all of these nurses, specialists, anesthesiologists, doctors are all 'immigrants'. The care couldn't be better. I haven't met the surgeon yet but the likelihood is high....

You gotta quantify your fears. Are you subject to a massive flood event if the rain doesn’t stop…is it a land stability issue. Quantify your risk. Do what you can to mitigate (which could be as simple as some sandbags). Be ready to shelter. Don’t become the burden in an emergency.
