A professor of mine went to go hear Derrida speak once. The entire talk was about cows; everyone was flummoxed but listened carefully, and took notes about...cows. There was a short break, and when Derrida came back, he was like, "I'm told it is pronounced 'chaos.

Hang on, what??
Screenshot from Dr. Jen Gunter's "Vajenda" Substack: How Much Protein Do Women Need.

"The evidence-based recommendation for protein is 1.2-1.6 g/kg/day. This means that someone who weighs 80 kg needs 96-128 g per day. A competitive athlete may need a little more (maybe 1.6-1.8 g/kg/day). It’s ideal to divide the protein into three meals, aiming for at least 20-30g per meal, but total protein matters more than timing throughout the day."

Abstract
Twenty two normal subjects and 13 maturity onset diabetic patients completed an observational study with repeated weighing and fasting blood tests from one month before to one month after Christmas. Over the Christmas period in all subjects an increase in weight was observed (mean 0.8 (SD 0.1) kg, p less than 0.001), which was maintained through January. This may signify an average additional 6000 kcal ingested. By three to six days after Christmas a slight but significant increase in fasting plasma triglyceride (p less than 0.03) and cholesterol (p less than 0.02) concentrations occurred, with a subsequent rise in glycosylated haemoglobin concentration (p less than 0.001). This study is not likely to affect any future Christmas.

For help using PubMed identifiers within Wikipedia, see Wikipedia:PMID.
A PMID (PubMed identifier or PubMed unique identifier)[35] is a unique integer value, starting at 1, assigned to each PubMed record. A PMID is not the same as a PMCID (PubMed Central identifier) which is the identifier for all works published in the free-to-access PubMed Central.[36]

The assignment of a PMID or PMCID to a publication tells the reader nothing about the type or quality of the content. PMIDs are assigned to letters to the editor, editorial opinions, op-ed columns, and any other piece that the editor chooses to include in the journal, as well as peer-reviewed papers. The existence of the identification number is also not proof that the papers have not been retracted for fraud, incompetence, or misconduct. The announcement about any corrections to original papers may be assigned a PMID. [citation needed]"

Started the gorgeous and intriguing Borgias series (2011), just before my subscription expired and summer arrived like a hurricane. I don't think the version I watched had closed-captioning so I have to pay really close attention, and I simply don't have the energy for that right now!!
Cover image for The Borgias series, featuring Jeremy Irons portraying Rodrigo Borgia—who took the papal name Alexander VI. He wears a wine-coloured cassock and holds a golden goblet, surrounded by his children: Cesare, Juan, and Lucrezia—the latter prominent in the foreground, blonde, wearing a white dress, and holding a small green perfume flask.

There's this little church in Venice 🇮🇹 behind a nondescript (by Italian church standards) door. If it weren't for The Guy's unerring nose poking into said door when it was ajar, we would have missed the most astounding fabric sculpture in inlaid marble I've ever seen.
