It’s alive!!! Having spent longer troubleshooting this than I care to admit, I finally have a working version of the Synare 3. Next step is to get it responding to MIDI note velocities instead of how hard you hit the speaker. The Frankenbeat will one day live!

The circuit of the Synare 3 drum synth constructed on breadboard with various electrical components and wires in a tangled mess. To one side sits a speaker which acts as a transducer when it is hit, creating a sharp change in voltage which triggers the rest of the circuit.

I’m very slowly building a polyphonic synthesiser cobbled together from various schematics I’ve stumbled across online. Working on just one voice for now. DCO is based on the Juno 106. Got the VCA working with the ADSR today. Needs plenty of tweaking but feels good to accomplish something. #synthdiy
