[guy who disagreed with me once] is Why Trump Gets Away With It

all hitherto existing discourse is just people in media grinding interpersonal axes
cnn: Similarly, New York Times columnist Jamelle Bouie told Christie in his “Museum of Twitter” series that Farrar’s tweet was “defeatist” because it played into the idea of Trump being the only person with any agency — the “main character of the world” — that everyone else is stuck reacting to.

Instead, Bouie believes it’s the people and institutions around Trump — from Republicans to Democrats, Congress to the courts — that have made the last decade possible.

“Other people don’t bother to deal with the fact that you could probably get him to go away for good. They kind of allow him to wriggle his way back in,” Bouie said. “He’s really figured out that persistence is 99% of success. All you have to do is show up and not go away, and people will be like, ‘I guess this guy is supposed to be here.’” (White House staff did not respond to a request for comment for this story.)

well it's the only thing anyone is talking about so i guess i'll weigh in. i think 김민철 could be the first to claim a 5th title but 이영호 is still the undisputed goat.

"i suggested the opposite of that actually." "several things i put up there didn't make it on here!" "oh we don't know who suggested any of this stuff." with copilot, you can have all of these problems--and spend more labor hours fixing it than paying an admin assistant would cost you

thanks to ai, you can just take a picture of your meeting whiteboard and turn it into a spreadsheet. then convene 20 people for 3 hours to decode the spreadsheet.

well i still disagree that the place should be firebombed but you’ve made a hell of a case. keep making up a tranny to get mad at if it makes you feel good, but this one has to go to physical therapy

claire @postoyevsky.bsky.social · 24/09/2026
all the actual immunocompromised people i know combine outdoor seating (where there is airflow) and masking, and I think they would be mortified to learn that they are the cause celebre of 1000 antisocial extroverts on social media, who can’t talk to you without insults and death threats
170
claire @postoyevsky.bsky.social · 24/09/2026
no, it doesn’t, this is a religious belief and not a scientific one.

claire @postoyevsky.bsky.social · 24/09/2026
that the person in the article should be sitting on a patio and not indoor for hours while covid particles accumulate, basically. your advice could kill them!
170
claire @postoyevsky.bsky.social · 24/09/2026
an indoor bar is not a safe place for someone as vulnerable as the person in the article is implying they are, and it is contrary to the literature to suggest it is

claire @postoyevsky.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

ted cruz had an sensible chuckle at the expense of someone threatening to firebomb a dyke bar over an infinitesimal change in covid risk?

claire @postoyevsky.bsky.social · 23/09/2026
really makes me grateful i have people in my life who will let me know when i'm acting like an asshole before ted cruz finds out about it

i know it's considered poor form on here, but this is because i was replying to the content of the op instead of imagining a situation where i had been personally attacked
010
claire @postoyevsky.bsky.social · 23/09/2026
you mean a couple of specific people in the story who claim one whiff of covid air will kill them but they drink indoors at a bar? where some people would presumably be lowering their masks to drink constantly because not everyone has one with a straw port? seems either reckless or disingenuous

claire @postoyevsky.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

if being in the same room as an unmasked person was as dangerous to me as the person who wants to firebomb a lesbian bar claims it is to them, i would not be going to bars at all.
181
claire @postoyevsky.bsky.social · 23/09/2026
i think it's important to be able to tell when people are being histrionic and disingenuous for their own benefit. but if you'd rather support team "firebomb a lesbian bar" i can't stop you i guess.

i think if i were as vulnerable as the people threatening to burn the place down (literally or metaphorically) imply they are, it would be reckless to be in a bar--where everyone is constantly lowering their mask to drink--to begin with.

claire @postoyevsky.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
if i, or anyone around me, is unmasked for even an instant i will perish. which is why i need to go to a bar.

middle east monitor: “The Houthis now control strategic positions around the Bab el-Mandab Strait and are attacking energy facilities in Saudi Arabia; this further exacerbates the situation in international energy markets,” Merz said.

“The international community cannot allow the Houthis to hold shipping in the Red Sea hostage. We are consulting within the European Union and with partners in the region—on the contribution we can make together to end this conflict,” he added.

When asked about the future of Germany’s military advisory and training mission in Iraq, Merz noted that it will end this month, but Berlin would be ready to continue cooperation in different forms.
