I was just thinking about contributing to the "charity" Feeding America. Until I discovered that the salary for its CEO, Claire Babineaux-Fontenot, was approximately $949,866 in 2024, with her total compensation being $1,113,502. Apparently, feeding America isn't her top priority.

When I was in my 20s, my husband’s great aunt taught me how to make a pie from scratch. All I knew about pies from scratch was using pie dough sticks and canned filling. Eventually she taught me how to make a Scandinavian recipe for Pork Pie handed down by my husband’s grandmother, her sister.
