Do you ever open an app, scroll a bit, close it, and then immediately open it again because your brain isn't working at all? Me, constantly.

As someone with an energy-limiting condition and chronic pain, I'd be a lot more alert if I could sit. They better be ready to approve reasonable accommodations.

I wish doctors still made house calls. My fatigue and pain are so bad and I have no idea how I'm going to get to/through an appointment an hour away tomorrow. An appointment for my pain, and which I have low expectations will even be helpful.

I guess I'm a Red Sox fan during the postseason and when Tolle is pitching, but I'm still not staying up to watch these games. Why do they have to start at 8p?

Census data severely undercounts people with disabilities. So when leaders make funding or policy decisions, people with disabilities are left out. Learn more: www.ndrn.org/wp-content/uploads/202…
Image of a woman in a wheelchair smiling at the person pushing the wheelchair. Text reads: Why does the census matter?
Leaders use the data from the Census to decide how to spend billions of dollars in federal funding on programs that support: healthcare,
education, transportation, housing, and
employment. Undercounting means
less funding for these programs.Images of arrows pointing down. Text reads: What's the problem?
People with disabilities are undercounted in current Census data because:
- The survey questions assume that disability only means you are completely incapable of living or caring for yourself.
- Some questions on these surveys are inaccessible or hard for people with disabilities to complete.
- Many people are afraid to complete the Census. They do not know how their data will be used and don’t trust the government...Text reads: What's the solution?
Data needs to be more detailed, inclusive, and accurate. That means:
- Redesigning the Census disability questions.
- Collecting more data at the local level.
- Making surveys accessible and easier to complete.
- Being transparent about how data will be used and protected.
- Partnering with trusted community partners to encourage people with disabilities to respond to surveys.Image of a disabled person with a prosthetic arm filling out a form. Text states: What can you do to help?
1. Learn more about the Census and why it’s important by reading our full report, Make It Count.
2. Show your support for more inclusive Census questions by educating state or federal leaders on the importance of survey accessibility.
3. Find trusted organizations in your community who are working for better disability Census data.

If you’re not opposed to giving Google the traffic, go search “fat bear week.” A little bear appears. On the right, there’s a button to feed him/her salmon and s/he fattens up! 🐻🐟

So the Bad Take of the Day on the other site is that people in online chronic illness communities are obsessed with being sick. We're all malingering. We don't want to get well. This really has been a f***ing week for the discourse.

The thing about the mask discourse going around every few months is more people I thought were safe seem to out themselves as no longer masking each time it goes around. Then I question if I'm the last holdout on Earth.

Another example of why iHerb is awful: they credited me $5 for their prior screw up. The credit said it was good through 9/22 so I placed an order that day when an item I needed was restocked. They didn't apply the $5 credit because the system set it to expire at 5:07a and I placed my order at 10a.

One of the many reasons I hate late afternoon appointments is that I have all day to anticipate them. Even today's, w/a doctor I like, is stressful because I know we're out of options so it'll be a useless appointment. Just get it over with so I can go back to being curled up in a miserable ball.

We have a neighborhood wild turkey flock that comes around once a day. I heard them outside my window so got up to look. The neighbor's cat was stalking them, preparing to pounch and take on seven turkeys twice its size. Scared off the little menace.
