Really quite rude of the CRO Race organizers to not postpone a week, did they not anticipate McNulty’s chances of coming back for a threepeat in the rainbow jersey?

Michael Woods has no team and just 4 racedays in UCI road races, and would still be Picnic's 9th highest pointscorer with 65 points.

One of the biggest winners of today among trade teams is Jayco-AlUla: 715 points by Matthews and 130 points by Schmid EF definitely must have hoped for more but 150 points by Healy, 45 points by Honoré, 30 points by Valgren & 15 points by Leonard is still a solid return

Slovakia will line up 1 rider while having 4 places. None of the Slovak pros was available (injured, and Kubis was needed at his team) so to avoid a devaluation of Slovak nationals next year, they start with soigneur Vladimír Kováčik who hasn't raced UCI level since 2017 www.rtbf.be/article/un-r...

@cilliankelly.bsky.social Uno-X’s last 15 race wins are by 15 unique riders. Have you got any stats about similar streaks? Would this be a record? I feel like most teams with that many race winners also have at least one top rider who wins more frequently, interspersed with the rest

Very tangential - who are some other riders who have explicitly said they dislike the Tour and prefer Giro/Vuelta? Storer is one, he said he’d prefer a Giro stage win over a Tour stage win; his girlfriend is Italian and he’s lived there a while Mas dislikes the pressure of the Tour, prefers Vuelta

For more context, Astana were 20th and 21st in the ranking in their very bad down years in 2023 and 2024. So even they would have been comfortably safe if we introduced a top 25 at the end of the year rule. Picnic really are a disgrace to WT at this point. I'm sorry to say this, but they are.

At what point do we need a UCI rule that teams have to be top 25 in the world ranking at the end of the year to keep their WT licence? Picnic are taking the spot away from worthier teams at this point. For context, Groupama are the 2nd worst WT team at 20th. They are 4700 points ahead of 25th.
