A lot of you won't know this because I am not nearly as loud about it, but The Maxx rivals Kuuga on the list of media that have been formative to my identity. This is a terrible loss. 💔

Whenever I'm watching toku, my husband will sometimes wander through, watch for a few seconds, and deliver no-context comments about whatever is happening. And I need everyone to know that this man's very first impression of Liveman was that Bias is a pervert.

Watching a V3 interview with Miyauchi from back in the 00s and he's asked about worldwide fans pirating the show to watch it and I'm giggling at his answer just being "damn. Must be pretty popular then. No opinion!"

Those of you who were with me on the bird site in the days of yore may recall Ultraman Arby's. It is with great pleasure that I announce the actual title of next season is Kamen Rider Zesty and no I will not be calling it by its 'proper' name ever.

Finished Ninninger. It remains not my preference, but I'm glad to not have it on the DNF list, and it served my watch metrics in a couple important ways. Completing a streak of 20 consecutive seasons (Magiranger forward), and 30 seasons watched in total.

My mom was telling me about the term 匂わせ as it's used on social media, often meant to imply new relationship statuses I showed her the Shuma car scene from Arc and asked if that counted as a TV show doing 匂わせ And she said "no, they are just gay"

A page explaining the term 匂わせ (niowase) as it's used on social media, highlighting a common example of people making vague posts alluding to having a new partner

A scene from episode 23 of Ultraman Arc, where the secondary male lead, Shu Ishido says "I don't want to lose you." to the lead character, Yuma Hize, with Yuma responding "I feel the same way" in reference to not wanting to lose Shu or any of his friends.

I was a grip on the first season of the Power Rangers. The space behind the Zordon Wall was my team’s favorite place to take turns napping. I can’t look at that image without thinking “There’s a one in four chance I’m asleep behind there.”

Well, so far Ohranger is very different from absolutely every series surrounding it. It's actually giving Ultraman in some ways. But I've been led to believe there's going to be a Toei-mandated tonal shift at some point, so I'm not expecting it to stay like this.
