Absolutely. Transmeds suck. And we should be suspicious of their motives. Transmedicalism is "you're not trans unless you get the surgeries/HRT/etc". But as a trans woman I've been called a transmed because I said *access* to that care is a non-negotiable imperative.

I was responding to the second part of the original skeet "Are you sure you aren't just mad that enbies and those not medically transitioning are embraced as part of the community?" Which I took to mean, advocating for access to medical transition made me angry at non-medical transitioners.

Up until like 15 years ago, the majority of the political and medical establishment. Hormones, surgeries, and other medical steps were shrouded in secrecy and rarely ever paid for by anyone other than the recipient. That made such care very gatekept. A lot of us just had to suffer. Or die.

I don't want to see medical transition being treated as an optional extra. If I hadn't been able to medically transition I'd be dead now. It is vital, life saving care. Not for everyone, but certainly for some of us.

Nothing against enbies, always been fully supportive of every trans person whether or not they want to go medical. However dialogue around "well you don't have to have HRT/surgery/etc to be trans" is weaponized to remove access to that kind of care, and that directly affects a lot of trans women.
