Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 24/09/2026Trump is always mentally on the golf course, of course 😜 010
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Of course (although cultural background does generally bear meaning for the environment and expectations kids are met with, both positive and negative; call it 'traditions'). The killer for me is the kid seeing it with her own eyes, and almost tasting the injustice. I can relate to when I got to uni 010
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 21/09/2026This is a killer: 'Najya said that spending the last two years in classrooms full of privileged kids had taught her that these students weren’t smarter or even necessarily better behaved than the kids she had gone to school with before; they just *had* more.' 020
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Reading that article strikes a deep chord, though, and it is harrowing. I can relate to the 'we want to make school better for everyone, so that's why our kids go to this school' - and after a summer where a lot of parents with 'kids like ours' have left (often for private schools) it weighs more. 100
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 21/09/2026That's how our local city council-run school - where ~50% of kids have a Muslim cultural background and where the district includes two social housing projects among the poorest in the country - can rank 237th of 1,400 schools in Denmark. 100
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 21/09/2026When rankings of schools in Denmark are carried out they present the 'education effect', (attempting to) control for a heap of individual-level socio-economic variables that is used to construct an 'Expected Grade Average' that the actual one is then measured up against. 100
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 18/09/2026I threw away ~4k followers and lots of good (albeit declining) football discussion, but dispatches such as these make me think I made the right call to delete my account in 2024. 010
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 16/09/2026Some great reflections in there. If AI stops us formulating thoughts and thinking about things, that's when we'll have lost. 000
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 03/09/2026And the effort it takes to hate the overly polite and friendly Canadians of all people too. 100
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 31/08/2026Dressing badly, since 1982 :-D (and, I can add, I've cut my own hair with a trimmer since 1998) 110
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 31/08/2026I've never worn a tie, nor tied one, in the nearly 44 years I've lived on this planet :-D 120
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 27/08/2026Pretty standard stuff? Regards, the front line states of the Nordic and Baltic regions. 010
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 27/08/2026The one place I not only accept, but welcome the new American overlords of association football: Full disclosure of transfers and wages. That simple step would help right a lot of wrongs. 040
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 25/08/2026Very much up there for me too. I'm still astounded to this day from learning that Jarvis says he generally sits down to jot the lyrics down the day before heading into the studio to do recordings. 000
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 24/08/2026Two from the same band, different album, that I love are: 'I am not Jesus, though I have the same initials / I'm the man who stays at home and does the dishes' and 'We were brought up on the space race, now they expect us to clean toilets' 110
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 24/08/2026The idea of Canada joining the European Union is becoming less and less far-fetched. 0130
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 17/08/2026I'm a quickly falling in love with him, that's for sure. Probably embodies how we want to play the best too with tenacity marries to obvious technical quality. I'd be interested in seeing him and how he can work when Bannan's not on the pitch - I think the added responsibility would suit him. 021
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 17/08/2026Grand. And thank you so much for all the lovely stuff you enable for us, who likes football and numbers, but have teams outside the main media's focus! 010
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 17/08/2026Can I ask if there's a timeline on data from League One? 100
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 13/08/2026Yeah, the simple explanations are usually the right ones, so I get I may easily be reading too much into things here. And I don't mind a good, robust argument as long as there can be a virtual handshake at the end of things :-) 020
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 12/08/2026Oh, I very much am - and to connect another dot, that may not be there, I think Storch's statement, through official club channels for the first time and not Twitter, on transfers also lines up with the time we reportedly all but had signed Adaramola and O'Reilly only for them to not complete? 100
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 10/08/2026I'm still iffy about him as first choice, and I've an inkling the plan was for him to be back-up to someone else when he was brought in. Increasing indications of the leadership misunderstanding the terms of the EFL deal and having to retract from deals already on the table for fee-paying transfers? 340
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 03/08/2026Belatedly: Also to us who sometimes feel like a culturally estranged/exiled one 😁 010
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 03/08/2026You can tell a fair bit about a person's character by how they play golf. None more so than the cheating, self-aggrandizing one on show here. 010
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 27/07/2026I'd like a transfer levy instead (including full disclosure of the size of transfers as well ad contracts) used for infrastructure investment, from grass roots and up, and depending on revenue raised, distributed disproportionally to clubs giving home grown players minutes. 020
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 24/07/2026Very good article and I'm saving that for both serious and less serious discussions in the office :-D 000
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 16/07/2026Yeah, and it's quite ugly to see a sort of blame game going on right now where the players point fingers (behind their backs/off the record) at Tuchel and Tuchel in turn throws the players under the bus somewhat (which he also did in the tournament at times, provoking Bellingham's 'yeah, whatever'). 000
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 16/07/2026But I think he made an already bad situation worse, and the substitutions signalled the panic was justified and defending was the only thing to do. While also looking at it coldly, trying to stop Argentina crossing from the right and connecting with them was an obvious flaw that needed fixing. 100
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 16/07/2026Not just Tuchel; players have to share blame with him. In interviews after the match both players and Tuchel state they did not want to retreat as deep as they did. I'm not convinced it plays out all that differently if his substitutions hadn't been defenders, but at least one attacker. 100
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 14/07/2026Ousmane shoving Kylian out of the way in the final third against Spain to have a go 😁 010
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 14/07/2026Olise arguably more impactful for club - and collective achievements have always seemingly weighed in a lot for Ballon d'Or awards - with Bayern winning the league at a canter and a UCL SF compared to 2nd and UCL QF for Mbappé? 100
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 09/07/2026There's no guarantee Henrik Pedersen finishes the season as our Head Coach either. 110
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 09/07/2026Almost too strong an insistence, that, no, Barry Bannan is not a legacy player. I dearly hope we won't be looking at a Portugal and Ronaldo scenario unfolding as the season wears on, but all parties are able to align their expectations accordingly. 100
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 27/06/2026@michaelcaley.bsky.social How come the joint (42+39+4=85) chance of qualification for Senegal is only 85% when they are certain to go through to the R32? 110
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 26/06/2026Far left and far right meeting in the middle (again). 100
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 26/06/2026Sweden now up to 99% probability of playing group I's winner in New York 30 June, so it didn't take too long to have that pretty much settled for Sweden at least (although I'm sure they would've swapped that for one of the other two opponents third in their group could get (Germany, Switzerland)): 000
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 22/06/2026That sounds ominous. What's inside your 'watch out' - attention-deflection borderline-but-not-really war action towards a NATO (Baltic) country..? 000
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 22/06/2026He'll want legs and athleticism for sure, and to be aggressive in transitions in particular. I will say, however, that he can't be the sole decider on squad building and style; that has to involve Simon Wilson too. 010
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 22/06/2026I would say a back four is almost a given; he's been quite clear in interviews that he wants a style, that when he describes it, sounds a lot like the Red Bull system he grew up in as a coach. 120
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 18/06/2026Besættelsesmuseet laver nogle interessante byvandringer også, i øvrigt. 010
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 18/06/2026Now up to 75 goals after 24 games, the first group stage round at the #WorldCup. We're still seeing a marked (26%) overperformance of Expected Goals, which isn't primarily driven by good shooting (xG On Target is 59.7, xG 59.5), but seemingly more by poor goalkeeping (via Opta Analyst). 030
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 18/06/2026That's fair enough, and I was only relaying what I'd been told; I've not seen the coverage like you have. I saw Jonathan Wilson referred to him as 'a great albatross' and a 'black hole of attention', which I found enjoyable and fitting! 110
Peter Adolfsen Løhmann @ploehmann.bsky.social · 18/06/2026I think those dynamics were in play in the 1st half too, but perhaps more pronounced in the 2nd half? If there was a 'Messi effect' of defenders feeling threatened by what he *might* do if he did get the ball, and defending differently - you could use that as a team, but doesn't seem like there is. 310
