#NowPlaying The debut EP from The Great Unwashed is here. 5 songs/30 mins of Sigur Ros/GYBE/Talk Talk inspired post-rock/slowcore. "I Do Try" is already the song of the year, "In Death" runs it close & "Call to the Morning" is just beautiful 🎶 thegreatunwashedofficial.bandcamp.com/album/the-gr...

#NowPlaying #NewRelease L'RAIN Fata Morgana This genre-spanning album is pretty hard to classify or even describe. Vocals are layered, manipulated and stretched across drifting beats. In some parts, it's Sneaker Pimps, elsewhere an electronic Cocteau Twins. It's absolutely excellent.

I've just finished reading this fab book written by a guy originally employed as a junior reporter for Melody Maker, then went on to become editor it before becoming the editor of Uncut magazine for 15 years. It's a fantastic read, lots of funny anecdotes about music folk.

Released OTD in 1983 - The Chameleons' debut album 'Script Of The Bridge' on Statik Records. An album that literally changed my life.

#NowPlaying #LiveMusic AGNES OBEL An incredible performance tonight at Aviva Studios in Manchester. Firstly, the sound quality is off the scale. The musicians are absolutely top class - and the songs soar. The new songs are sounding fabulous too.

#NowPlaying #NewRelease BETH ORTON The Ground Above I was unprepared for such a wonderful album. This is an emotional and heartfelt record. Instrumentally, I'm getting echoes of Peter Gabriel in some songs, which is no bad thing. Such a strong set of songs. Recommended.

Saturday's gig was tremendous. A lovely large crowd, everyone out for a good time, and a superb atmosphere. I also played a private garden party last night that was absolutely lovely. It's really something to hear the response to the new songs. I'm now looking forward to the next gig...

#NowPlaying #LiveMusic FYFE DANGERFIELD As gigs go, this was about as intimate as they come. Fyfe performed an impromptu extra gig in a coffee shop with a whole range of songs not played at last night's gig. No microphone, no P.A, just his wonderful voice, piano & acoustic.
