Unofficial redirection! www.royalmail.com/sites/royalm...
Forwarding - unofficial redirections - We are not under any obligation to do anything with an item that someone requests to be forwarded to another address other than the return to sender address on the cover. We consider these unpaid for, forwarding requests to be a form of unofficial redirections request. Typically in this situation the original address is crossed out and a written request (e.g. "please forward to") is made on the cover to forward the item to another address. This is normally attempted in order to try to get the item to the addressee who has moved to another address. In these situations the person moving should take out a Redirection service with us or provide pre-paid stationery. If we find an item that someone has requested be forwarded to another address then the item may be dealt with or disposed of at our discretion.

Buy Nazi Flags
London. Nov. 28—(AP)-Two Nazi flags, bought at auction at the former German embassy in London, were apparently on their way tonight to Kingdom house, headquarters of the Legion of Christian Reformers, a new organization which London newspapers said regards Hitler as "a divine instrument."
The flags were removed by a Mr
A. Wilson who said he intended to present them to the. Christian Re-formers, which received wide publicity in British papers yesterday in connec tion with the auction of a huge granite bust of Hitler.
The bust was bought by Capt R.
Gordon-Canning, former member of the British Union of Fascists, for $2000 after spirited bidding. Gordon-Canning, who was imprisoned for two years during the war under defense regulations, told reporters the bust might "go back to Germany in about 25 years time."

Some of the specifics of the 1960s road proposals. They wanted to build a flyover at Gants Hill. I will now look a little more kindly on this location which is simultaneously a major road junction and town centre. Rejected on amenity grounds, even in the car-brained 1960s.

Gallows Corner was a safety blackspot from the moment it was built in 1925. They had to build a first aid hut and used scouts.
During daylight hours, a 'scout' from the Automobile Association was posted at Gallows Corner, but after dusk, there was no one to warn drivers.
The need for illuminated warning signs was thought to be essential given the high volumes of traffic and the number of accidents recorded.
Accordingly, posts were erected with a four-sided illuminated sign displaying a red 'X'.
By late 1925 a beam from a light on top of a 9m high post lit up a police constable stationed below regulating the traffic.
A wooden first aid hut was built at Gallows Corner and at another blackspot, the crossroads at Hall Lane, Upminster.
Boy scouts, who had received basic first aid training, were often the first to attend an accident. The infrastructure and resources necessary for dealing with the number of casualties and types of injuries were woefully inadequate at this time.
Pedestrians walking on the road had been a problem on the A127 because footpaths had not been included in the original works.

West Ham Council wanted the station renamed to something else, presumably they didn't want people getting of there and thinking this was it. It finally became useful as an interchange between five lines when the Jubilee line was extended.

1938: What an honour for Newbury Park
First Arterial Road Subway.

The first arterial road subway in the country is to be opened by the Minister of Transport at Newbury Park, Essex, on Monday.

It will take pedestrians beneath the Southend arterial road and is likely to act as a pattern for others which it is contemplated building in various parts of the country.

It has taken six months to make and cost £7000 exclusive of land acquisition.

At the same time the provision of dual carriageways on arterial roads and by-passes is to be continued extensively, particularly on the Kingston by-pass, the London-Brighton road, the Sutton by-pass and the Sidcup road.

🚦 GALLOWS CORNER IS FINALLY OPEN.
After over a year of disruption, the flyover and roundabout have reopened but for me, this is not the end of the Gallows Corner saga.
Local businesses and residents have paid a heavy price throughout these works. I will continue pressing for proper compensation for those affected, as well as action over the impact the diversions have had on Havering’s roads.

Wait a second. A new Beam Park masterplan!? That ship has sailed. The development already has planning consent and is in phased delivery. Do they know what a masterplan is? Not to mention it is a cross-boundary project.
Our strategy will be supported by a number of flagship programmes, including:
• Financial Recovery
• Havering Growth Company
transformation
• Reimagined Romford Masterplan led by the Romford Market Renaissance Plan
• A new Beam Park Masterplan
• Re-launch of Invest Havering
• Creating specialist Economic Growth Zones and new Rainham Masterplan

The Leader of Havering Council has launched the Administration's long-term vision and ambitions for the future of the Borough.
Called 'The Havering Plan 2040' and unveiled at last night's Cabinet Meeting (16 September 2026), it sets out the aspiration of 'Creating London's Super Suburb:
This aspiration will be met by creating the best place in London for residents to LIVE. LEARN. EARN
