Did work around glacier MT and made a simple snow accumulation/melt model. Glacier could be warmer but increased snow ppt that occurs with warmer (moisture) air. Look at diurnal changes and particular night min temps which indicate higher moisture/vpd.

Mission Mts flathead Co from the Salish bison range this June 10th with refreshed snow. There are a few glaciers on the west face.

Yes. That’s not a blanket ban on all hunting. Hunting is managed by science based ecology and population estimates, not for likes and engagement (alt fake park service twit). Moose for example requires a rare tag issued by lottery and by area. Fav movie about wolves.

And so has the system engineering process been staple of aerospace. SpaceX jumped to full scale systems early on and now mitigating design flaws, including selecting stainless steel, in full scale flight hardware. Very expensive and maybe never.

I was a working adult in 1980. Yes houses less expensive. It was a bad economy. Auto industry manufacturing layoffs, people going bankrupt, high prime interest rate trying to throttle inflation that hit 13% late that year. Buy a home in 1980.

Big economic hit to western states. USFS R&D jobs are stable, high paying jobs in urban and particularly remote areas of the Intermountain Region (my experience) and I suspect elsewhere like north of us in the imaginary state of Jefferson.

I’m with you The US Postal Service is a public service and explicitly mandated (shall) in the US Constitution. The USPS cost is as relevant as the defense department costs, that is to say neither are supposed to run a profit.

US constitution article 1 the Congress shall have power to establish post offices and post roads.

Whatever is done, “AI” has to fit within the classic engineering V and produce evidence that the system is correct. If AI breaks the engineering V, then you’ll need a lot of lawyers when the system fails. Avionics have a low 10^-9 failure rate. Cheaper has to better.

IF SpaceX implemented full scale prototypes too early with a unproven design and is stuck in classic engineering hell. It is cost prohibitive (time and money) to find and fix early in design flaws. Blowing up starships as employees clap like seals encouraged, not intimidated competitors.

We rescue from shelter. These are our two. 4 and 14, a 10 year age difference. Both have terrier in them. The white one is probably Chihuahua terrier. IMHO smaller dogs do better with a companion.

O’Shaughnessy brought this influence into his design work for St. Patrick’s Church, creating a distinctive hybrid Irish-meets-American style.
