If it has an FMVSS or USDOT/EPA sticker, I don’t *think* you need a letter, as I think the sticker is proof of compliance. IIRC, Kia may no longer supply letters of compliance (some manufacturers don’t). It’s been a long time since I’ve bought a Canadian market car in the US, YMMV.

I don't know for sure (there were also actual CRT touchscreens by then, too), but it wouldn't surprise me. Lots of filmmakers around that time used a lot of experimental tech from actual companies, a good particular example being Wim Wenders' Until the End of the World from 1991.

You said favorite, not important or particularly great, so if that's the parameters then I'll go with the '89 Pontiac 6000 STE AWD. Hoary 3-speed auto, cobbled together IRS swiped from the new GM-10's, & a truck diff. What's not to like? 😂 GM didn't make another US market AWD sedan for ~15 years.

Same. Windy City definitely made a believer out of me. I do miss Breezy Town for deep dish when they were at the Clockout Lounge in Beacon Hill (they were folded back into Windy City), but I certainly didn't complain when Stevie's Famous filled the spot.

With that said, I *think* some of our current favorites are Cornelly, My Friend Derek’s, Windy City, Post Alley, Dudez, Spark, Roma Roma (that’s more for my wife), Stevie’s Famous, and Ananas. Jackson Street, Sunny Hill, & Moto are up there, too. My wife is keeper of The List, so I’d have to check.

We keep an active list of where we’ve been (30 or so) w/ star ratings, places we want to go, & places outside of town we’ll make a special trip for just to try their pie. I’m a Syracuse native who’s lived in The City and N Jersey, and my wife is from NE Ohio, so I feel like we have a *little* cred.

Indeed it was the Lane, and that would be a fair assessment I have also "driven" the Helicron, and in addition to being a danger to wayward pedestrians, it also has no front brakes. It is impossibly hard to stop at speed.

It’s not the outright speed, per se, but I drove the P50 on a four lane, 40 mph road in Nashville in traffic amongst a fleet of Class 8 dump trucks from a neighboring quarry, which in hindsight was probably less safe than if I had just been on a bicycle.

Unsafe as it was produced, not from lapses in maintenance? It has to be the Velorex 16/350. Its a 3 wheeler with a body made from Igelit, a leatherette kind of early PVC sheeting. And probably the Peel 50 and Trident are up there, too. But I love the Velorex, goofy as it is.

A German auto magazine, for an article on the Nissan Pike Cars in the Lane’s collection, used the museum’s DS Break as the photog car. We had to drive the Pike cars very close while the writer took rolling shots of us as he laid in the cargo area of the Citroen & his daughters sat on his legs.
