This is was what it used to be - now don't get any direct sun at all. We also have houses being built next to us at the same time and whatever the developers put in the construction management plans is just bullshit - they don't stick to them and the council don't enforce it.
Sunset over the fields off Wilsons Lane, Coventry - now no longer possible to see.

They're building this 40m from my study window and we got 10 people to sign a petition and now everyone is "oh it's so big". In contrast a petition about some trees being cut down for a cycle path in Coventry got over 4,200 signatures.

Whilst such tricks work on our other three, Ginge doesn't eat treats so we have to wrap him up in a blanket and squirt the antibiotic into the back of his mouth. As you can see he's quite lanky and it's like wrestling a sack of eels with razor sharp claws - I'm sure he can smell my fear 😅

We had one of these at the hospital in Coventry which they fixed by telling people to get off their bike - complete with chicane, 2m of cycling and then having to get off. (There's some kind of hut in the hatched area now as obviously no-one paid attention to the hatching)

Same vibe coming from the local council candidates here

I love to play Russian roulette with software when changing its config 🙈
Except of a post on X talking about how NanoClaw configures itself: "He’s talking about NanoClaw’s approach to configuration. When you run /add-telegram, the LLM doesn’t toggle a flag in a config file. It rewrites the actual source code to integrate Telegram. No if-then-else branching. No plugin registry. No config sprawl. The AI agent modifies its own codebase to become exactly what you need."

In this case the method was generated inside a `with_options` block so the `source_location` reported by Ruby was inside ActiveSupport::OptionMerger - no hope of Claude finding that. (wonder whether `with_options` could pass location data to the option merger instance for better reporting 🤔)

Aside from Claude completely hallucinating that Active Record named scopes add a predicate method, I wonder whether over time Ruby codebases will use less and less meta programming since it's difficult for LLMs to include the generated code in the context.

It looks like there's Cloudflare caching on the URL - it might be they're only seeing the origin requests for the file and even then mostly the 'Not Found' requests as it's got a 365 day max-age on it. You'd need the CDN logs to get more detail - not sure whether you can access that with WPEngine

After I pointed out the error, today I received new calculations which basically say I'm out of time to claim relief on the pension contributions but I still owe the HICBC and now I'm trying to tell them about Section 36(3) of the TMA 1970 which allows out-of-time reliefs during assessments 😩
Excerpt from the Tax Management Act 1970 as amended which states: "s36(3) TMA 1970 - If the person on whom the assessment is made so requires, in determining the amount of the tax to be charged for any chargeable period in any assessment made in a case mentioned in subsection (1) or (1A) above, effect shall be given to any relief or allowance to which he would have been entitled for that chargeable period on a claim or application made within the time allowed by the Taxes Acts."

Everyone was focused on the roundabout itself but there is also a signalised left-in, left-out junction that will likely cause massive tailbacks onto the roundabout which cyclists will have to navigate. This excerpt shows exiting HGVs will have priority over traffic coming off the roundabout.

You might want to have a word with the housing developers on Hospital Lane in Bedworth about cleaning up their mess before the race comes down it. They've left the road in a filthy state and there's hardened lumps of clay soil as well as a pot hole right in the racing line.

The minister talked about ban on bus stop boarders until the guidance is published - is that affecting current plans? NBBC has a plan to add a shared path with some boarders to what is essentially a plan to widen the road. Are councils likely to just remove cycle lanes in these cases?

@coventrycc.bsky.social according to the permit on the one.network website, National Grid are meant to provide an alternative route but as you can see they haven't done so. They could've diverted people onto Momus Boulevard at the entry/exit points close by but there is no signage for that.

There are exit/entry points into the parallel Momus Boulevard which would be better points to divert users as that road is very quiet and could've had a section coned/barricaded off without affecting anyone.

I turn right at this junction most days and at rush hour it's only possible by humans signalling you to pull out by intuitive means - no headlight flashing, just a look, pause or a nod of the head. If you followed the rules you'd be stuck there for ages (even as a human it can take 5 minutes).
