“The editor's cut was about six hours long. | like to put everything together so that we can go back and look at it later. It's all got to be assembled at some point. It's footage that | can insert into a sequence or insert into the movie. If it's a scene that was lifted - even though | know some of it, in my heart will definitely not go into the movie - | just have it edited so that it's something that we can refer to. Or maybe there's a piece of it we can use after having an assembly and weeding out the stuff that's absolutely not going to be in the movie. We ended up with a 3:45 cut of the movie that we screened for test audiences. It wasn't practical to release a long movie like that, so we made some tough decisions an
did some fancy montages and jump cutting just to make things go a little bit quicker and hone it down. The movie that was released was the best version of
the movie. It's entertaining. It holds your attention.”

Choose Life? Protect Life? Nah, profit is everything #EPA #Profiteering
Title:
Pollution & Profit - are everything
People & lives - mean nothing
Text:
Trump’s EPA will no longer consider impacts
on human lives when setting pollution limits,
focusing instead on costs to businesses.
Since the 1980s, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
has used a metric called the “Value of a Statistical Life,” which
essentially assigns a value to human life, when considering cost-
benefit analysis of pollution limits. As TechCrunch simplified,
“lowering pollution can prolong human life, so if the health
benefits of reducing pollution outweighed the costs, then there
was an economic argument to be made in favor of reductions.”

The Trump administration’s EPA has now decided to reverse
decades of practice when it comes to considering the impacts
on human lives when setting pollution limits on fine particle
matter and ozone - two of the most widespread air pollutants.
(Long-term exposure to both pollutants is linked to asthma,
heart and lung disease and premature death.) The agency will
instead estimate -only- the cost to businesses.

Per reporting from NYTimes, who obtained internal documents
of the plans, “The change could make it easier to repeal limits on
these pollutants from coal-burning power plants, oil refineries,
steel mills and other industrial facilities across the country, the
emails and documents show. That would most likely lower costs
for companies while resulting in dirtier air.”

A building built from steel plates arranged in a form that defies easy explanation. The architect deliberately chose a waving, random pattern of blocks, curving and interconnected, lined with sheets to reflect the light so that at all times of the day it would seem a living, metallic thing. A taller, melted structure on the left with stockier blocks on the right, and curved, pointed blocks appear behind and above the main arrangements we can see from this side. The steel tiles on the exterior show reflected greys in various shades under this cloudy sky. In the foreground there's a shallow lake and a modern art sculpture of metallic balls stacked upon themselves rises up a few tens of metres.
