I finally wrote another game review!

Tyler @pixel-ty.bsky.social · 10/09/2025

Check out my review of Katanaut, a Dead Cells-like that has you play as a spacefaring samurai! Yes, it is as incredible as it sounds. And it was released today! youtu.be/THdOirx9RPE

I had an excellent time reviewing this quirky RPG! It's not hard to see how this inspired @tobyfox.undertale.com when he was creating Undertale. After many unofficial translations and fan versions published on forums and itch.io, it's awesome to see Off get the proper Steam release it deserves.

Check out my review of this face-melting, musical RPG set in the world of @robscallon.bsky.social! This was a fun one to review. I mean the puns basically wrote themselves.

Check out my review of the newly released indie action-roguelike that manages to combine elements of Diablo, Castlevania, Dead Cells, and Blasphemous into a rather fun package perfect for the Steam Deck.

Is it just me or did Day of the Devs save SGF last night?

You cannot convince me this wasn't directly influenced by Nathan Fielder.

And here's my written review of Deck of Haunts, which just released on Steam!

I had the chance to play Deck of Haunts ahead of its release tomorrow! It's a clever twist on the roguelike deckbuilder genre where you play as a haunted house and terrorize your visitors. Check out my full review: youtu.be/-xwicJUMUFw

I can't say I'm surprised that GTA VI is delayed, and I don't mind waiting a little longer. I'm just glad this stranglehold Rockstar has had on the industry is now released, and we can start getting some release date news for every other game that was scared to be near the GTA black hole.

It's been a long, long time since I was as wholly consumed by a game as I was by Blue Prince. And I still have so many mysteries left to solve! Check out my full review that I wrote for @minimapglobal.bsky.social

The only thing that could possibly pull me away from Blue Prince is my most anticipated game coming out to rave reviews, but what are the odds of... Oh! Hey look!

Did anyone have a FromSoftware Switch 2 exclusive that looks like a Bloodborne spiritual successor on their Direct bingo card? Because I certainly did not.

Switch Direct predictions: - The Switch 2 will actually be called the Super Nintendo Switch - Arms 2 launch title - Switch 2 features a front-facing camera and Zoom as a pack-in app so you can take work calls while playing Zelda

A totally comprehensive review of "Laika: Aged Through Blood" @pixel-ty.bsky.social (spare me the typo corrections, tysm)

a screenshot of a Discord chat between two people discussing the game "Laika."

DaniJo_519: "okay i rlly like Laika and am also deeply frustrated by it lolol it's all making sense now"
Pixel_Ty: "Right?"
DaniJo_519: "why do enemies have to re-populate constantly"
Pixel_Ty: "It's the worst! They just want to be a Hollow Knight-like for no reason!"
DaniJo_519: "why are their save points everywhere but teleportation spots nowhere"
Pixel_Ty: "It's the worst! I just want to fast travel!"
DaniJo_519: "but also dog go bang bang on bike is fun"
Pixel_Ty: "It is! Except when I'm just trying to explore and I get boomed by a respawned enemy I thought was there"

There are three kinds of joy in this world: 1. When your hope is rewarded. 2. When the hope of people you love is rewarded. 3. When Manchester City suffer.

As divided as the nation is right now, we needed a true American hero like Kendrick to unite us all together in clowning on Drake.

Completing my civic duty and watching the Super Bowl. I'm not sure what changed. I used to view this like celebrating a holiday. Now it almost feels like an obligation.

Last year it was Prince of Persia. This year it's Ender Magnolia. I think we should just codify a rule of the games' industry that each year must start off with a banger Metroidvania.
