MUST READ: Here's the original preview of The Black Adder in The Radio Times. Watching that first episode was the start of a personal lifelong obsession with #Blackadder. Many people criticise S1 which is a shame. Uncensored, it's TV gold in my book.

Blackadder's Christmas Carol (BBC1, 1987). Kind Ebenezer Blackadder is visited by a spirit on Xmas Eve, who show's him his evil ancestors. Contender for greatest ever sitcom Xmas Special. Ball bouncingly funny, giving a us a brilliantly simple but hilarious inversion on Dickens' tale. Perfection.
