If a human and an AI create the exact same sequence of sounds, those two products are still different. The human product is music. The AI product is just output. Music is human by definition.

Music is more than just the sequence of sounds. It's also the human contexts around the composition and the reception of those sounds, and how those contexts interweave. Music, crucially, is the composer/songwriter, the musician, and the listener thinking about each other.

The tech bros getting music hilariously wrong, and the slop gobblers telling us how "good" or "convincing" they find AI-generated sound, are spectacularly missing the entire point. However closely an AI-generated sound sequence might come to resemble music, it can never *be* music.
