Catching up with David Olusoga Finding Britain’s Slave Traders. Really interesting and informative. I love his programmes. Looking at all the investors in the trade from Royalty to the Elite to the people with money funding it all. Nothing changes! Money grabbers have no ethics!!

Tried this internment recipe of banana, egg and yogurt with fruit scattered on top. Looks a bit anemic as I cooked it in the microwave. Dish too big for my air fryer. Review:- Needed honey to sweeten it up. It was a bit Meh 🫤 for me. Will try again with more robust flavours. #Banana #egg #yogurt

2 bananas squashed
2 eggs beaten
200g yogurt
Mix together and scatter any fruit you have on the top. I added just picked blackberries.
Air Fry or microwave 3-5 minutes. Keep watching it.
I found it had a lot of moisture at the bottom of the dish which I had to drain off. I drizzled honey on the top as it lacked taste.
It’s in a glass dish on a bread board. Looks a bit pale. Maybe oven or air fry next time.

Made Bullace Jam this morning. It’s very nice and passed the OH test!! It’s a little bit thin though. The good news is that the one I’ve put in the fridge has thickened up. #BullaceJam #Foraging

Just foraged 1.2kg of Bullace for jam making next week. I have verified as best I can that these are indeed Bullace. 1. Sloes, I know are smaller and have thorny branches. 2. Damsons are oval in shape. 3. Bullace are round, bigger than sloes and have no thorns. Am I right? #Bullace #Foraging

The new square with loads of space for venues and people. Around the square are beautiful old Yorkshire stone built buildings.

This is the old library which I used to go to. It’s a magnificent structure and I’m so relieved they are revamping it into a museum and art gallery. There was a small art gallery there before.

The new library is airy, cool, spaced out and welcoming. Plenty of seating and sooo many books. Wonderful space.

Went foraging today. Came home with 600g of Sloes for my sloe gin. They’re in the freezer till the weekend. Also saw a tree full of Bullace (Wild Damson) so going back on Saturday. Sorry, but I’d have to kill you if I tell you where it is! #Foraging #SloeGin #AutumnBounty

Sloes on the branches look like blue lights they’re so bright against the green leaves. The thorns are as sharp as swords. I pick slowly!!

Sloes in a red sieve ready for washing and freezing before use. Freezing them breaks down the skin and releases the juices quicker, therefore no need to prick them all over individually.

I’ve just found out how to get rid of the AI response when I ask Google anything or search for anything! If I want to ask Where is England for example, type in:- Where is England -ai Thats it. Just type -ai at the end. I’m so happy to get rid of it!! Back to the old searches!! #-ai

Wood glue used to fill a big crack in the wood of my blanket box. The hinge is split open. DIY pliers as a clamp as I only had one. Going to leave it for 24hrs to see what happens and then try to screw the hinge back on. #MakeDoAndMend Determined to fix it! Let you know how it goes.

I have the lid of the blanket box propped up so there’s not too much pressure on the other hinge.

Wet day so, stewed my son’s pears with cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. That should keep the winter at bay! Also made some the kids might like better with plumb and apple. He had a huge amount of pears on his tree this year. They are still a bit hard but starting to ripen. #FreezerFood #Pears

Stewed some firm pears with cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, lemon juice and sugar.
It’s turned out lovely for a winter desert. Freezing it now. One for son and one for us!

This is a colourful pear mix of plumbs and apple. Not used so many spices as it’s for the youngsters. Cinnamon is a must though. Going in the freezer.

Cutting down an old ivy which was way out of control today and found a nest. Beautiful made and quite big. Blackbird 🐦‍⬛ maybe? The sad thing is what I found in the building materials, plastic! None inside though just outer layer . #NestingBirds #PlasticWaste

While waiting for my car to be ready today I had the best Smashed Avocado breakfast I’ve ever had! It had pickled red onion, feta and pea shoots among other mouthwatering ingredients. The coffee was also excellent! KIN Barncliffe Mills, Shelley. #KIN #Breakfast

Smashed avocado on toast with pea shoots on top of two poached eggs. Feta cheese, fermented onions, pomegranate seeds, sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds. Yum!

I STAND WITH THE RNLI.

The RNLI is a charity that exists to save lives at sea. But recent events have generated deliberate misinformation and a misunderstanding about our purpose and our lifesaving work in the Channel.

As a result, some of our volunteers and staff have been the subject of online and, in some cases, physical abuse. This is unacceptable.

The RNLI’s people represent the very best of society. For over two hundred years they have dedicated themselves to rescuing people they’ve never met before, without judgment, fear or favour.

We are tasked by HM Coastguard to help those in distress, and we'll do so whenever, wherever and whoever they are.

We launched 9,058 times in 2025. Only 109 of those launches were to those in distress in the Channel – 1.2% of our total rescue work. Anyone rescued from a small boat by the RNLI is then taken into the care of the relevant UK authorities.

To those who stand with the RNLI, thank you. For more than two hundred years, we've saved lives at sea around the UK and Ireland, and that commitment remains unchanged.

I blitzed this leek, potato and carrot soup and it’s a lovely colour. I put carrots in for this result. The lid ready for the freezer is lying on top of my eggs.

Tonight I went Veggie! Pica de Gallo with Butter Bean Hummus. It was really nice with those chilli hot Doritos . Chickpeas are a bit too hardcore for my digestive system so butter beans work really well. Still put in the tahini though. #ButterBeanHummus #PicaDeGallo

Anyone know what this bee 🐝 is doing? Strange behaviour in the bottom of an old flower pot. I angled the pot so it could get out if it can’t fly. It keeps popping its back end into a hole in the soil. Not deep half inch or so. #Bees #SaveTheBees
