This weekend @sgoodyear.bsky.social and @brooklynspoke.bsky.social of @thewaroncars.bsky.social were speaking at a cute bookstore in Oxford, and it felt like such a unique opportunity so I made the trip! Wonderful to feel part of a movement rather than like an oddball for once 😅. So glad I went!

Waitrose essentials muesli has too much nice stuff in it, (in a bad way) balance is way off. Eating an entire breakfast bowl of sultanas, coconut flakes, and hazelnuts, and getting an occasional rolled oat every other spoonful... have some modesty for goodness sake, Waitrose.

Got a new e-reader and was excited to use it but wth is with the pricing of some e-books?! Is this a case of "Some publishers trawl through university reading lists, find the commonly used titles, classify these as e-textbooks rather than ebooks and raise the price" that I read about?? #ebooksos

Would get miraine with aura, usually after very intense exercise. ~2 per week at its worst when I used to run; far fewer now that I cycle instead. BUT - had a stroke last December (happened during a migraine!) and am now on clopidogrel, an antiplatelet. No migraines for ~7 months...

I was put on Atorvastatin after I had a stroke in December. My cholesterol was low/healthy-range but I guess it's a good precaution. A few weeks in to taking it I was getting crazy lower back pain - I'd heard this is a possible side-effect. Very likely it's something else, but still curious.

If you consider useful work as "transporting the person", then almost all of that 16-25% is actually being used to move the car, not the driver. This applies to EVs as well - cars are just an awful way to move people around.

20 days since I suffered my stroke and just been out for a decent bike ride. was brilliant to get out but still felt slightly detached, like when you try to run in a dream. I really hope it will come back with time and I can get back to the fitness I once had. #youngstroke #TIA #cycling

Sometimes I see artists do little tutorial sketches for how to properly draw folds in clothes and stuff. I'd love to see one for how to faithfully reproduce the way Trump's soft, doughy neck is pulled taught and gathered at the knot of his tie.

Cycling home from work I passed a field of cows and the young ones watched me and I said "hey!" to them like you might to a dog and they stopped chewing to think about what I'd said and I guess that isn't really anything at all but I'm glad I wasn't in a car.
