'tis the season of art prompt lists. i made my own list for OC-tober this year! 🎨 have fun with it. feel free to do as much or as little as you want, repeat the same prompts multiple times, combine with other lists, whatever is fun for you! #OC-tober #OC-tober2026 #OCsky

TITLE: OC-Tober Art Prompts
Description: it's OC-tober, the perfect excuse to spend the whole month drawing your
original characters. you can approach these prompts with whatever degree
of seriousness and effort you want. this isn't a legally binding list of obligations,
it's just ideas to get the gears turning!
the list: • finish an unfinished piece (maybe even more than one)
• design a new character, or finish an unfinished design
• rework a character design that needs some polish
• design a movie poster or a magazine cover
• draw a single-page comic or short storyboard
• draw your OCs in an alternate universe
• draw your OCs in another art style
• find a blank art meme/challenge to do
• draw something you find difficult, using your OC
• draw an OC at a different age than you usually do
• redraw a scene from a movie or TV show with OCs
• draw an OC cosplaying one of the characters that
inspired their design
• redraw a childhood drawing of an OC
• draw two OCs interacting who you haven't before
• play with alternate color palettes
Footnote: re-interpret however you want or combine with other lists! the only
rules are have fun, take care of your wrists, and don't use AI.

Randomly remembering The Twelve Kingdoms was a series that existed, and I loved. It was like an inverted Inuyasha that spun the dynamics regarding the heroine, Yoko, in super interesting directions. Also, it had Rakushun. The boy! Please, observe the boy, it's very important.

Yoko from 12 kingdoms alongside Rakushun, the half-beast

Rakushun the half-beast relaxing under a tree with an umbrella

Yoko, post-becoming queen, with Rakushun having become her retainer.

Rakushun, the boy, at his desk with a peacock

i think miyuki-chan primed me for for gushing over magical girls. something about suppressed sexuality being released in a way where it cannot be put back in the box. trying to run from it is an endless chase while embracing it allows you to grow as a person. i think we need a silent hill for sex

recently I came to a realization about why "smart devices" are so shitty if you take an appliance that creates some sort of physical output, and connect it to a network, what you've actually done is invent a new kind of printer and printers are, of course, the devil's machines

You work a desk job why do you even need a 'truck'? There's plenty of EV sedans, you just think your midlife crisis deserves special treatment.

Scenes such as this where the light is reflecting on the water are accomplished through a process called "backlighting", "underlighting" or "bipack glow". To create the effect a matte is cut and light is shone through the holes.

If you're looking for somewhere to host your merch that is LOUDLY anti-AI I highly recommend ACGGoods PLUS if you're an artist, you can take merch comms directly on site + have the merch made + shipped to the client 👀

Screenshot of ACGGoods with "unique merch starts with human artists" underlined and "100% human made. Real artwork from verified human creators. No generative AI." circled.

Did a Bikoubu piece yesterday based on the recent sm rose pieces. Worst thing about ocs is 99/100 times no one else is drawing them. Best thing is you always have a guy to draw.

Digital drawing of a wolf's rain of holding a poppy and looking over her shoulder.

No, stop that. Stop drawing popular girl from new AAA slop game or the new shonen anime. You need to find a secondary character from a 10-25 year old jrpg and let it be your muse, like a real artist

ended up seeing fields of mistria reviews on steam. if you have over 20hours on a game that cost you thirteen dollars, you enjoyed it. reviews are important for indie games and you got Something good out of a game you've logged as much time as you have. minor issues dont justify 'not recommended'
