Totally forgot to share this here, but I did manage to get out another headshot recently at least!

Been struggling to find the energy to draw recently after coming back to it, but I'm trying to get some sketches out again at least.

TBH I still don't really feel like I have a 'fursona' or feel particularly attached to any of the designs I had previously tried to assign as one, but maybe I need to think outside the box a little more. Cryptid-vibes are probably more suitable.

Working on Astray's world building again, nothing about the setting has changed really, other than how it's been evolving slowly over time, but I'm trying to flesh it out a little fuller and I'm tidying up the world page that's been under construction for like, a decade now.

Sometimes it's really hard to explain characters with words and using vibes and visual or auditory expressions like moodboards, collage, playlists etc. (i.e. "aesthetics") is the best way to communicate things for me.

and in the case of erotic fiction, feel free to remind others that using sexually-hostile or threatening language and demanding disclosure of sexual trauma or assuming things about real people's sexual preferences and proclivities is a form of (real) sexual harassment against a (real) person. peace.

the best responses to a stranger casting moral aspersions in an attempt to publicly humiliate you are, 1. ignoring the person entirely, 2. explaining that you refuse to engage in the conversation and bidding them an honest good day, and 3. "kiss my ass."

one of the best decisions you can make as an artist is to stop talking about your artwork from a position of defending it. the artists statement should be a tool of pride, community, and conversation, not an appeal to those who had no interest in (or ability to) understand it in the first place.

NGL I still don't understand what the difference is supposed to be between a "fursona" and a "truesona" I am too old for this I think 💀

There's some old characters that I cannot remember the names of for the life of me and it's kind of driving me crazy.

This is a SFW account as far as content goes, but I'm still very firm about it being an 18+ space. I am only interested in engaging with mature adults, no exceptions. And when I say 'mature' I include your ability to behave maturely about adult subjects, not simply your age.

𝖕𝖍𝖆𝖓𝖙𝖔𝖒 @phvntxm.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Sometimes I feel kind of like an isolated weirdo for treating my anthro characters like any other cast in a story and focusing on things like world building and narrative and character development.

If you think an artist's style looks like AI but you can scroll back through their portfolio and see them doing the same work before 2020, congrats, you're not looking at an AI grifter. You're looking at one of the original victims whose entire style AI stole.

A lot of my characters can be pretty similar to each other and I know that's often met with the criticism of being "samey" but it's more like variations on a theme to me. I don't really see it being all that different than having a style or a preferred genre of media tbh.

Haven't really used FA in a long time even tho I popped in a few months back just to kinda say hi. I wish it was possible to change your username there, I feel like I'd try to keep up with it more if I didn't have to completely start from scratch. But maybe I do go ahead and just make a new account.
