Somehow "The Dragonets are Coming" is even funnier in Leaf's perspective when you realize it is written to the two of 99 bottles of beer on the wall. Cartoon you better change that song, because if Clay starts strumming 99 bottles of beer that scene will be the funniest thing otherwise.

My experience with the book dragonslayer is currently “it’s funny that Tui wrote a dragon obsessed girl in high school” but also 2/3rds of the experience is “I just want more Sky and Wren” Like I know what’s being setup with Leaf and Ivy, and it’s interesting, but Sky and Wren are more interesting

Ya know I always find it awkward to run campaigns in established worlds and dealing with canon, and I wanted to try to do one where the PCs basically replace the canon Protagonists and mess around with the butterfly effect. I thought of trying this with Wings of Fire or any 5 man band story.

Watching @scottderg.bsky.social's excellent WoF Darkest Day campaign right now, and I had to show this moment between shoal and winter in art. I love these edgy boys. (I am not the best artist right now, but drawing these beans is helping I think.) #WoFEclipse

A crummy sketch of Winter, the light blue icewing dragon, and shoal, the blue seawing/icewing hybrid having a very morbid interrogation. Winter has a neutral expression. Shoal is angry. Winter swivels his head in response to shoal, dawning a knowing smirk. All bust shots.
Dialogue:
Winter: "Listen, if I could make a suggestion. As much as I would really like to see these Skywings writhe in pain, I could just, ya know, tell Queen Snowfall that they would LOVE to have two terrible Skywings as their prisoners in the very cold air that is the Icewing Kingdom."

Shoal: "Oh I'm gonna do so much worse."

Winter: "tch. Alright"

So, finished the second arc of WoF It’s worth it just for that arc. The first arc is fantastic, the second arc I think has more *flaws* but so many more strengths. I was feeling things in the first, the second is when I had to put a book down to mentally take a break for the first time in years.

"Spider" Based on a conversation I had 2 years ago. The title is "spider" and there is discussion of a spider, but no actual spiders depicted in the comic. Can never have enough Qibli/Winter domestic scenes. #WingsOfFire #wof #wofQibli #wofWinter #wofMoonwatcher #dragon

A comic featuring Qibli and Winter. Winter wakes up a sleeping Qibli, who groggily wonders what's happening. Winter then informs him that there is a spider in the bathroom. Qibli doesn't know what he is supposed to do with this information. Winter explains that he wants him to get rid of the spider, saying that, as a Sandwing who eats scorpions, Qibli should be able to deal with this problem. Qibli angrily refuses to eat the bathroom spider, to which Winter says he doesn't care how Qibli disposes of the spider, as long as he does so somehow. Qibli then walks into the bathroom, intent to see the spider and making fun of Winter. He then looks at something off-panel (implied to be the spider) and falls silent.

Smash cut to both Qibli and Winter now waking up a sleeping Moonwatcher. As Moon gets up, Winter explains that there is a spider in the bathroom, while Qibli sheepishly says "It's a lot bigger than I expected."

Considering I do see a lot of Frisco Lines stuff here, it is really funny that a Railroad called St Louis - San Frisco with leadership that wanted to link south to Mexico from St Louis and failed to go to both Mexico and San Francisco. This is what happens when you night nominative determinism.

This is my surgeon general’s warning for Clan Gen, if you are an artist and had a Warriors phase, you will find it resurfaced when your leader invites in an outsider and immediately hooks up with her then won’t shut up to everyone about how he has the best mate in the world. God bless you spiderstar

I find it funny how Baseball teams and American teams in general will use the law speak “trade for cash considerations” to mean “buy and sell players,” and then in Soccer there’s no euphemism here we’re just selling on the transfer market.

Second dumb JW movie thought of the day, the most thought provoking shot in Dominion that also did the by this point 15th sauropod wonder scene was apatosaurus in the snowy construction site. It’s like a Yellowstone bear jam on steroids and the thought that a writer could see that and then (1/2)

Phonexia @phonexia.bsky.social · 31/05/2026

Dino movie thought after seeing it pointed out that the dumb mutant dragon things could have been Utahraptor, and now picturing that scene where the velociraptor is killed but replace it with its bigger cousin (and give it accurate feathering) and how you get to have raptors and do that dumb trope.
