Coalition and One Nation’s plan to ditch net zero would not lower power prices, CSIRO report finds
GenCost report contradicts parties’ claims about abandoning emissions target, and finds nuclear would be most expensive way to generate power * Follow our Australia news live blog for latest updates * Get our breaking news email, free app or daily news podcast Claims by the Coalition and One Nation that abandoning a net zero climate target would bring down power prices are contradicted in a new CSIRO report on the costs of generating electricity. Generation costs will probably rise after 2030 regardless of Australia’s policy on net zero, according to the CSIRO’s annual GenCost report, but prices should then stabilise at levels below recent price spikes. That not one journalist in the room pushed back hard on Hanson’s utterly repugnant line about migrants is shameful.
In the 2021 census, more than half of Australian residents, 51.5% were born overseas or had one parent born overseas. 51.5 per cent. Is that supported by the Australian electorate? Is that what Australia wants?

Phones, cars, and the temperature in an office were all designed to suit the average man. Researchers say women are an afterthought in the way many products and spaces are designed.

Richard Marles says “It’s like the UN but without all the Human Rights and Rule of Law palaver…” 2. Albo now in pic, Marles continues, “So far it includes various peace-loving luminaries, like Tony Blair, Viktor Orbán, Netanyahu…” 3. “…plus Trump’s son-in-law and a bunch of property developers…” Albo says “Should we join it?” 4. Marles: “Perhaps we could appeal to their better angels…”

AI errors are not multiversal. That argument implies that their answers are correct, just in another reality. AI makes sh*t up, and when it does the answers are just wrong. “Hallucinations” may not be the best word, but “multiversal” lends a legitimacy to these made up responses that is harmful.
