You're welcome! Check him out. He has a couple of substacks, but this is one I usually read every day, or at least skim. I rank him right up by @hcrichardson.bsky.social . He gives a nice balance, speaking like we are all thinking, using humor, but sticking to the point.

Yes - BUT . . . you're not thinking about this from the standpoint of a blind person. And actually, I think the "Mystery Solver" DOES play into 'the joke' somewhat. But whether it does or does NOT - this would make the blind person painfully aware that they were still missing something.

Just last night I watched a movie about the aftermath of WW I. Your post, and the unforgettable memory of the movie came together perfectly to bring it all into focus. The movie was "Frantz", free on YouTube right now (with ads). Subtitles, but so riveting, I seriously hardly noticed them.
