I’m pretty sure it was one of these mini CDs Coca Cola put out with 12-packs in 1991. Probably this one. The first album I bought for myself was much later - Be Here Now from Oasis, thanks to my friend getting me into them.

I have several of these set aside but my go-to nowadays is that for most long-running video game franchises, the first game I played was the first one released. It’s true for at least Mario, Zelda, Final Fantasy, Castlevania, and Mega Man.

I’m not sure I’m the right kind of person for social media, and therefore could consider any of it great, but top 3 for me are 3. Bluesky 2. Livejournal (early-mid 2000s) and 1. The Palace, a visual chat platform from the mid-90s that I’m now discovering might still actually exist??

I had Muramasa on Wii but never finished it so I’m excited for that too. And the new Xenoblade and the updated Switch 2 versions of current ones. I’m sure I’ll be more excited about other stuff as it gets closer but those were the major highlights for me.

I’m tremendously excited for Final Fantasy Resonance. I played a ton of Brave Exvius and from what I’ve seen from screenshots and gameplay footage I like the changes to the system. I’m also excited for people to experience a version of it unfettered by gacha.

I keep looking into selling off at least my Final Fantasy TCG full arts for some extra cash, with an eye toward eventually downsizing bulk and offloading everything, and I can’t help but wish there was an official online FFTCG app like Magic Arena or Pokemon TCG Pocket Probably a pipe dream :/

Caster is probably the best fit for Malvus since he’s canonically a Black Mage. Rider could also fit since he’s served as an airship pilot in my lore for him. Archer could also work since he’s an adept Machinist. Saber maybe, and Assassin and Lancer probably not.

So, uhh, you can tell the GBA was a real RPG machine for me. Honorable mentions go to Mother 3 and the Konami Classics Arcade pack, which had Time Pilot and Gyruss on it. There are a *lot* of GBA games I intend to get to on Switch Online. Astro Boy: The Omega Factor is another I want to play.

I once had a random person at a convention in 2015 tell me, a lifelong reader of sci-fi and fantasy and a fan of Star Wars, Star Trek and Doctor Who, that I should “burn my nerd card” because I hadn’t seen Firefly. That’s pretty much all I have to say on the subject of that show.

I have Tourette's Syndrome. It's a mild version and I am not one of the 10 percent who have coprolalia. I have watched the clip of the BAFTAs with John Davidson shouting at Michael B. Jordan and Delroy Lindo on stage. It hurt me a lot to hear it and it's definitely a "no-winners" situation.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, easily. I never saw the third one because this one was so terrible in every way. Mind-boggling character decisions, nonsensical plot choices, you name it. And then JK showed her true colors so it’s not like I’d ever go back.
