What we see throughout scripture is that seeing and knowing are morally consequential. Once something has been revealed to us, we cannot return to the innocence we had before we knew it. “Anyone who knows the right thing to do and fails to do it commits sin” (James 4:17).

Until the day I die, I look up at the sky, let there be not one moment of shame. Even at the wind that stirs the leaves, I suffered. With a heart that sings of stars, I must love all dying things, and walk the path given to me. Tonight too, the stars brush against the wind. Yun Dong-ju

Remembering faithfully requires us to grieve what happened that day while also reckoning with what we became willing to do because of it. #sept11

Maybe this whole thing will lead towards conversations about how there’s a very small portion of the population that has too much money and a very large portion of the population that doesn’t. Maybe things should be different.

Graphic promoting a sermon series titled “The Good Contagion: A Summer Series.” The artwork features a person exhaling glowing golden particles to symbolize the spread of faith. The series explores how faith in Jesus is shared from person to person. Sermon schedule: July 12 – “Infectious Feet” (Romans 10:14–21); July 19 – “Contagious Testimony” (Revelation 12:7–12); July 26 – “Variant Strains” (1 Corinthians 9:19–23); August 2 – “Share the Love” (1 John 4:7–12); August 9 – “Spreading Joy” (Acts 13:48–52); August 16 – “Releasing the Light” (Matthew 5:14–16).

This is a real image from a real church... Mercy.... The Church has become far too enamored with the joy of “we made a graphic” instead of the conviction of “we have a Gospel.”
AI-generated promotional graphic for a summer sermon series titled “The Good Contagion.” It shows a child in profile, eyes closed and mouth open, exhaling glowing orange particles that look like germs, spores, or virus droplets. The text describes faith as something “caught” more than “taught” and invites people to explore the contagious side effects and symptoms of following Jesus. The overall image is dramatic but also pretty terrible and unintentionally unsettling, since it makes the good news of Jesus look like an airborne infection.

Working towards justice would be making sure that every dime of the $1,776,000,000 anti-weaponization fund that’s meant for those “subjected to improper and unlawful government targeting, including extensive government censorship and aggressive lawfare,” goes to people like Kilmar Abrego Garcia.

It’s ok to drop the ball - just be honest about it! There’s nothing more frustrating to me than someone who just won’t own up to a mistake. Sometimes things just don’t go right, I get it, but it’s soooooooooooo much harder for forgiveness to be shared when someone is trying to lie the problem away.

I really want a soda - but not a normal can of soda. It would be really cool if someone could put together maybe a smaller can like slightly more than half of a 12 ounce can but then it also needs to cost twice as much. I really enjoy almost having my thirst quenched and paying more money.

The problem isn’t just violent rhetoric. It’s that we’re being asked to see violence differently depending on who commits it. The tension many of us feel is an inconsistent standard, where those in power continually redefine what counts as violence and what gets excused…

The sky was something else tonight…
Wide-angle view of a dramatic storm sky over a suburban roadway at sunset. The upper two-thirds of the image are filled with heavy, textured storm clouds forming long, streaking bands that appear to converge toward the horizon. Beneath them, rounded, pouch-like cloud formations hang low, giving the sky a turbulent, sculpted look. The horizon glows with a vivid band of warm orange and yellow light from the setting sun, sharply contrasting the cool gray-blue tones above. Silhouettes of trees, rooftops, and streetlights line both sides of the road, with utility poles and wires cutting diagonally across the scene. The overall mood is ominous yet visually striking, with light breaking through the storm in the distance.Closer, upward-facing perspective of the storm clouds, emphasizing their dense, bulbous formations. The sky is dominated by large, rounded cloud pockets that hang low and uneven, creating a textured ceiling effect. Subtle shafts of pale blue light filter through thinner sections of cloud, giving a sense of depth and movement. The lower edge of the image shows the tops of trees bending slightly, suggesting wind. Power lines and a utility pole run along the right side, adding scale and grounding the scene. The horizon still carries a faint warm glow, but the focus is on the heavy, looming cloud structures overhead.Tightly framed, upward-looking shot focusing almost entirely on the cloud formations. The clouds are thick, rounded, and clustered, resembling a series of overlapping, soft-edged domes. The color palette is predominantly cool gray with subtle blue undertones, with very little visible horizon. At the bottom edge, the tops of green trees peek into the frame, providing a sense of scale. The clouds appear heavy and close, creating an enclosed, almost cavern-like atmosphere. The image emphasizes texture and density, capturing the weight and complexity of the storm overhead.A slightly more distant view of the storm, with a strong visual contrast between dark clouds and a bright, golden sunset. The sky is layered with thick gray clouds, some appearing to swirl or fold into one another. Toward the center, lighter, wispy streaks suggest rain or rapidly shifting air currents. The sun sits low on the horizon, partially obscured by trees, casting an intense yellow-orange light that illuminates the underside of the clouds. A roadway runs into the distance with a few small vehicles visible, their headlights faint against the glow. The scene feels dynamic and transitional, as if the storm is moving through or beginning to break.

A political cartoon shows a line of lemming-like animals marching in single file toward a cliff. Several at the front are already falling over the edge into a fiery scene below, where a large nuclear explosion rises over a city. The sky is dark and filled with smoke. The lemmings wear helmets labeled with phrases like “retaliation,” “escalation,” and “mission accomplished,” suggesting stages of conflict. A sign near the cliff reads “Destination: Nuclear Catastrophe,” and another warns “End of the Line.” In the background, a flag reads “Security Through Force.” At the back of the line, one lemming—still too far away to see the cliff—speaks confidently: “Two steps forward, one step back… we’re making progress.”

Do not trust, support, or follow any religious leader or other authority that proclaims war is a pathway to prophetic fulfillment. That road leads only to death & damnation. Jesus didn’t teach us to look at the world and hope it burns. He taught us to love the people in it. All of them.

When civil authority polices identity in ways that produce humiliation, exclusion, or harm, it departs from the biblical vision of justice. Christians cannot be indifferent when the government assumes the power to define our neighbors in ways that diminish their full participation in public life.

Absolutely wild that I haven’t heard a peep from the “history, heritage, legacy” crowd who rallied and killed to keep Confederate monuments standing. Surely their passion for “historical conservation” wasn’t conditional on whether the history in question upheld or challenged white supremacy.
