There's always a chance that people are exaggerating in those venues in order to get more attention. But it also sounds like they're trying to give away all of the info at once, leaving little to be discovered.

Oh. Oh god. I love a good story -lord knows Final Fantasy XIV is incredibly verbose but is absolutely grand- but you still have to pick and choose sometimes which stories to experience because there isn't time to experience them all. Sometimes games with simpler presentation can be more fun.

I imagine it's the new one. Three Houses was also incredibly dialogue heavy and had a lot of micromanaging running the academy and stuff. Very different from earlier entries and more similar to modern Persona in a way.

I think that is the problem that I had with Three Houses and why I dropped off of it so fast. Earlier games in the series aren't as dialogue heavy and get you going through the paces much more quickly and more often.

I always loved how the whole FFVI opera thing was: 1. A fun and goofy bit that challenged Celes to step outside of her comfort zone 2. A chance for Locke to be encouraging and to express his feelings in an indirect way 3. A big old dash of pure Looney Tunes

I used to hold VI as the best, but then I played V and had more fun with it. Now they're basically tied in my rankings. Then I played XIV and the story has blown me away so....

It's still got annoying world map holes. 😜 But... I may be untrustworthy as a judge because I also enjoy Zelda II more than the original (but not LttP because that's the best) and Final Fantasy XIV more than V (my second favorite) and VI.
