Great day out riding the Voie Vert from Saint Gervais les Bains to Geneva to watch the Femmes #Tdff Didn’t even try to take a photo of the actual sprint, so there’s a photo of the first gruppetto instead.

Information board for the VoieVerte. It’s in French, so I’m not going to try and translate it. The cycling and walking route runs from Chamonix to Geneva and is almost entirely traffic free

Much needed beer and a side of the best combination in the world: chocolate ice cream and raspberry sorbet.

Hahaha! I’ve done it a few times now. The first year I was sooo scared and obsessed about every detail. The third year we entered 30mins before entries closed the night before, with a trip to Decathlon required 😂 The first year I rode coincided with the first women’s race.

A Paris Roubaix sportive commemorative cobble stone. The date coincides with the date of the first women’s edition.

My plan was to get an official souvenir to commemorate the milestone of the professional women finally being able to do what the sportive had allowed any old woman to do for years. Reader, if you know ASO, it will not surprise you that there were no such souvenirs available.

The first edition was won by Lizzie Deignan. The base of the sportive cobble now bears her signature. I treasure and am depressed by this most wonderful thing in equal measure! Recognise women’s sports!!

Nom! I hadn’t really clocked how not-Italian that area is until we got there. Enjoyed a medley of everything south Tyrollean on our last night!

A dish of South Tyrolean favourites all in one place. A big curly sausage (not a euphemism) sits atop cabbage salad goulash and roast potatoes, with a bread dumpling nestled in the centre. Delicious!

I guess I’m going on a cycling diet. ‘Race highlights packages and other related content’ it will be. No way I’m paying over £30 per month. I’m a cycling fan, not a sports fan. It was fun while it lasted. What a bummer.

Having seen the new SDWorx jersey on riders in the Cx at he weekend that’d also be up in S/A. The Movistar one seems to be the odd one out but there’s just something I really like about it.

It’s not very slick, but two clamps and a random piece of wood make indoor riding more comfortable. For my back anyway. The less said about the rear end the better 😂.

That looks great! I group pieces into colour groups - the greens, the just oranges, the blues etc. That way you’ve got fewer to sort through to find matches. I do it without the picture as it helps me tune in better to the colours. PS: it could be worse 😅

I had another go and now have a…mess. Though I am considerably more educated about sponsors 😂 I gave up and started looking stuff up after a minor improvement based on the clues. I’ll wait and see when you publish the answers whether I got anywhere close with the myriad of pro teams particularly!

Day two - embracing my inner craftsperson as I’m not allowed to walk further than the nearest lamppost yet.

A small sleeping cat curled up like a croissant, made with modelling clay. The cat is very orange, partly due to my skill, and partly due to the paint available. The cat’s model is currently in the same pose, and entirely unaware of my efforts to recreate him. Which is lucky, else I’d be having to paint while he tried to bite the paintbrush.
