tbh when i saw the cast list and how many returning actors there were, including the 3 amigos!!!, i was expecting a leo pointing fest, and i did get one lol

bonus round: in the 3rd movie, since waku's actor died, they made a whole ass character who is waku's nephew who is also a cop, and he is in this movie, but he never interacts with or reacts to "mashita's son made my uncle an ai chatbot"

(oh, and the "pay off" with ai chatbot waku (if you can call it that) is that the chat bot waku turns itself on after the case is solved and tells aoshima he did well, and yuki and the others confusingly try to figure out how this happened)

anyway the rest of the movie is pretty much leo pointing at old stuff and "copaganda, japan!", including when you hear gendo ikari's voice and see his voice actor literally gendo-posing lol

so it feels like things were setup to happen with him (e.g. seven bear theory wrong -> confront failure and mistakes, inheriting muroi's model -> inspired to come into his own as an admin, "at the end of the day hes just a little boy asking for help" -> work with others / team) but they just Don't?

yuki looks into seven bear and comes up with this theory that, since each bear represents a sin, the culprits are picking victims based on the 7 sins. this theory ends up being completely wrong btw but like, this doesnt go anywhere for his character lol

so anyway, the culprits of the murder case are already known because they posted themselves on social media (yeah thats another thing lets not worry about that right now) and they're connected with being oshi of an anime called seven bear
